Prob is, but you would think they would be monitoring all flights from Asia... sorry guys if I’m the carrier monkey and they didn’t catch it
And also, talk about incompetence... the tsa agent when going back though security told me I needed a real ID in October... I said “I have one”... she said “then why did you show me your passport” and I said “bc I just got off an international flight and didn’t feel like pulling out my wallet”
I say all that to ask, so our genius govt didn’t make passports compliant to real ID????

Chinese guy talking about the situation. Was posted earlier but I bookmarked and just watched. Dear Lord — I pray that they don’t find him and kill him for his comments.

Why is it that we don’t hear about viruses like this coming out of places like India? Why China? India seems like it would breed more potential epidemics than China, but, China.

India is definitely a cesspool in many areas, but they don’t have huge open markets with piles of dead reptiles, fowl, swine and rodents on sale as groceries.

Haven't been to India, but they wont even eat a cow.
I have been to China several times. I can vouch that they eat everything. I turned down 50% of the crazy stuff and still managed to put down cobra soup, raw chicken and pork, illegally hunted "wild birds" with high ranking government officials, etc ,...all for the sake of business. With that said, everything I ate was with high-ranking party officials in very nice restaurants.
Imagine the gamut of animals in disgusting markets most Chinese eat. Please note, that I have been to Wuhan a couple times, and the market photos I have seen posted in this thread are clean compared to what I saw outside of Chengdu, Yichang, Ezhou, Zhouzhou, yueyang, Changsha, etc. Americans can not even believe the shite I saw in "markets."
ETA: I have been to 25 countries...most think they know poverty, but they have not been to central China.
All of this said, I absolutely loved Wuhan.

I want to go wash my eyeballs after reading that. Is it weird that I smelled the foulness through your words?
Wasn’t thinking about food sources. Was thinking about the sheer mass of humanity compressed in urban areas. Holy hell. Don’t even want to imagine what you saw.

It kept getting weirder as I went inland...on the plus side a blonde American is God-like in interior China...especially for the ladies.
It's an utterly fascinating place..for better and worse.
More than anything I ate or saw in markets,I can tell you that the fear of the government by the people and CONSTANT video and audio surveillance was by far the most disturbing part (I was on government trips). Phones and emails were hacked and locked (not just me, but the U.S. Government officials I was with...its was bad.
My final trip was with the wife. It was Ritz Carlton, 5 stars all the way...the pressure and monitoring was way less, but we still had their FBI following us bc of my prior official government trips. I didn't point it out but she kept saying she was uneasy in inland China...(Shanghai is much better)

Is this the thread where we discuss the Chinese flu? That is a strand that hasnt been given in the flu shot on this continent? The same thing that happens bi-yearly via bird flu, H1N1, etc....?

Stranger in a strange land.
Can only imagine the contempt you generated from the male populace in your earlier trips.
Couldn’t imagine the uneasiness you felt with a foreign govt watching you.
Would like to read more.
I’ve eaten some random stuff...but, some of that makes oysters and nutria sound like lobster and filet.

Because India has a very low rate of meat consumption. So not much suspicious looking meat hanging out in the open that you’d see in places like Africa or China. That being said India has plenty of areas that are just as, if not more, crowded and dirty.

China has a big presence in Africa now. If it spreads there, Katy bar the door.

I read that some deaths in wuhan area of China are just being listed as pneumonia and families are questioning why they didn’t test for coronavirus.

It's the fricking flu. That our continent hasn't been vaccinated for. It's no different that H1N1, the "bird flu " or any other "upper respiratory virus" that has come from overseas in the last 20 years. Over population in places such as China, cause massive outbreaks due to close quarters of all citizens. The virus makes it's way over here, where there hasnt been any vaccinations for the strand, and people predisposed with weaken immune systems are stricken. These outbreaks happen every year, at the same time, and the news has yet not been able to capitalize.

I've been all over China and the worst I've seen was Kaiping City. It was true slave labor. We were trying to find a new supplier and this rep was emailing me left and right to come visit his factory.
I went there with another gentleman in the industry to meet him. Factory workers had a "hotel like" place to live and were sleeping on the concrete floor in front of huge presses as we walked through.
We both looked at eachother with the same look and didn't have to say a word. We knew where we were and what we were seeing.
About 2 hours outside of a massive city.
We did have a fine meal there and we were the only people in a very nice place.
It will put communism into perspective in a hurry.
