Post the Korean data

It’s absolutely consistent with a sample you would see if it was

66% female
20% over 50

Why are you intentionally ignoring this?

South Koreas population is also vastly more dense than the US and they use mass transit far more than Americans.

I’m one of the unconfirmed cases.

How many times does it have to be said that regardless of the number you want to believe, it has the ability to overwhelm the medical system. Then that number goes up. Meaning people die unnecessarily that need routine care.

Those are undeniable facts based on evidence that has been posted in this thread for almost 2 months and people still refuse to believe it

bullshite! Those aren’t undeniable facts. Guys like you, on both sides of the issue, are a big part of the problem. Blowhards asserting facts that just aren’t facts.

We are taking precautions against something that MIGHT happen, not against something we KNOW will happen.

That has very little if nothing to do with the mortality rate

14% of South Korea's population is over 65
15% of US population is over 65.

You'll have to try again, bud.

SK - 8,086 cases, 72 (+5) deaths, 7,300 active cases, nCFR - 0.9%. This is consistent with modeling showing a cCFR of 1.5 - 2.5%. SK is doing the most intensive tracing and testing in the world.

Ok I guess I’m going to have to explain this again. It’s not about the overall population. It’s about the data that is being used to calculate their mortality rate.

Top is SK data
Bottom is Italy

SK cases are 62% female and 19% over 50

That’s the major reason their mortality rate looks better

Look at what percentage of deaths are from over 70 in the Italy data 30-40%
Look at what percentage of deaths are from the over 70 in SK... 35%

So they are doing almost exactly the same. Italy just has more old people infected.

Do you agree?

My hope that is that we can do enough tests to really get an idea on the hot spots across the country. The drive thru testing, if it runs smoothly, will be a tremendous help.

Let the people know if they have Covid19, and tell them to quarantine if they are younger and not at risk for severe complications.

If the majority of the citizens are social distancing and practicing good hygiene we can nip this thing sooner rather than later.

That must be why the mortality rate is the same across all countries.

Did you seriously just say demographics and density don't matter? . You've once again outed yourself as a fear mongerer

Denials? I don’t even know what you are talking about

How does population density effect MORTALITY of individual cases? It definitely effects spread.

If you can't piece together why it would have an effect, I have nothing for you.

You need it spelled out that changes in the number of infected and the demographics of the infected will have an effect on the number of deaths?

Yea, the total number of deaths. We are talking about a PERCENTAGE.

You really want me to explain that?

Why is the percentage not the same in every country?

He’s talking about rate. A percentage. That percentage can be affected by demographics. A country with many more older people will have a higher death rate generally. It just depends on where the clusters pop up. Like that nursing home in Washington which made up 16 of the first 22 American deaths.
