Washing hands doesn't work when it is being transmitted through the airs.

Influenza transmits through the air too. People are still told to wash their hands.

Also, influenza lives longest in dry cool weather too and dies faster in warmer weather. It's almost like they share certain traits.

So many Chinese graduate students now ... I'm certain it has been circulating on every major college campus in America.

They aren't structurally similar at all. It is like comparing humans and whales. Whales are mammals so they should be able to walk on land too.

Messages my contact sent me...
quote:

We just got our first confirmed pt in our ICU, first patient in the system. 40+ staff members on quarantine for 2 weeks. Thats like a quarter of my unit.

quote:

Yep, she was on our floor not in isolation, went into respiratory distress and sent to ICU... Confirmed today she is presumptive positive. Waiting for CDC to official confirm. So everyone who came into contact with her prior to being put in isolation was sent home on 14 day quarantine.

At this point it dying in the Summer is a hope, not a fact.

And will end up being around 1% when said and done.

We will be just like others, if you’re under 50 .02 death percentage if you get it. If you’re over, somewhere in the low teens.

Unless you are a healthcare professional under 50 in a cluster area, or have preexisting conditions like Type 1 diabetes.

And low teens for people over 50 is a pretty big deal (if that were to happen).

Complete transcript from last night regarding travel.

quote:

After consulting with our top government health professionals, I have decided to take several strong but necessary actions to protect the health and well being of all Americans.

To keep new cases from entering our shores, we will be suspending all travel from Europe to the United States for the next 30 days. The new rules will go into effect Friday at midnight. These restrictions will be adjusted subject to conditions on the ground.

There will be exemptions for Americans who have undergone appropriate screenings, and these prohibitions will not only apply to the tremendous amount of trade and cargo, but various other things as we get approval. Anything coming from Europe to the United States is what we are discussing. These restrictions will also not apply to the United Kingdom.

It would be nice if there could be a test to see who has already had the virus unknowingly. This has clearly been here longer than most people realize and it may put people at ease to see how many mild or undetected cases there already have been.
