So are they saying not to wear masks for the non ill so there isn’t a rush to get masks? Also they say surgical mask shouldn’t be worn since it isn’t n95 but if someone is sick then they should wear one. If someone coughs, isn’t that small enough out of the mouth to get through that same surgical mask?

The global CFR or US CFR?

Either is fine. Just show the initial predicted CFR early in the outbreak.

Did we demand testing like this for Swine? Another serious question.

If you are saying we did less testing for swine that would mean whatever CFR was calculated for swine is probably too high

Wow.. King County Public Health Director also signing a proclamation that gatherings of 250 people OR LESS will also be prohibited unless organizers can show they are following all public health #coronavirus guidelines..

I don’t know the initial predictions and numbers for either off the top of my head. And I’m not saying anything with regard to swine testing. Just curious if there was this type of call to test everyone and anyone this early.

King county is going further then the state of Washington. Governor Inslee banned meetings of 250 or more people. While Seattle/King county is saying anything less than 250 is also banned.

Ok so you know this is “just another swine flu” but you don’t know...

What the CFR was for swine flu
What the initial CFR was for swine flu to potentially show us how the CFR can decrease as time goes on
You don’t know how many people were tested for swine flu
Or really anything about the swine flu
Etc.

So tell us again why it’s equivalent to the swine flu or why you are even mentioning swine flu

You didn’t answer any of my questions. Why do I have to keep answering yours?

Your focus on CFR is interesting though. The number I asked about was cases requiring hospitalization. If there was a spike for swine flu and in clusters which I assume there was like with any of these, why didn’t it break the system then?

That’s the concern for everyone at this point right? Hospitals being overrun. Since the CFR isn’t really known yet. What we do know is it largely kills the elderly and spares the young. Huge difference with swine.

I asked you how this virus compared to the swine flu and you responded with...

quote:

Did it show up in clusters? Did it overrun our hospitals even though it started here? What totals required ICU?

I don’t even know what you are talking about. It sounds like you are making an argument for how coronavirus isn’t like swine flu.

And you have to answer my question because I asked it first and you are trying to get out of it.

I think he’s trying to say the H1N1 strand hit the workforce age much harder than the current coronavirus.

The spread is far less. Same reason you put your hand in front of your face to sneeze or cough.
