Because I want to go to a beautiful country when travel is really cheap and there are almost no other tourists?

What countries have the warmest temps right now? It seems like that would give us insight as to what will happen when it warms up.

Assuming they did (which they didn't), what measures did they take to stop it? And are those measures reasonable for a "severe cold," as one dumb arse called it yesterday?

you are so triggered some people aren't rushing to their underground bunkers over this cold

Nothing has limited mine either. But you can bet if something does, I’m not going to blame the dad who went to a father daughter dance before he knew his other daughter tested positive. I’m going to blame mass hysteria and overreaction.

You think that’s the same as cutting off travel to major countries and forcing whole families to self quarantine and cancelling major events and schools?

Schools routinely cancel days because of flu outbreaks FWIW.

If my sister got coronavirus, shuttling sown her work, her kids schools, my work, my wife’s work, anyone’s spouses from my work/my sisters work/my wife’s work etc etc is actually more “reasonable” than shutting down random concerts and events

But you see how crazy that sounds?
Agreed, in the end the shutting down of large events/gatherings will be theater or marginally helpful at best, but largely ineffective without full blown quarantining in work and schools

There are fewer cases in southern Italy than norther Italy. Boom. Proof.

Where is this coming from? Egypt only has 59 confirmed cases so far.

Don't know, but look at the facts behind a lot of these cases (including almost all of the TX cases). Seems like every damn one of them went on a Nile cruise last month. And I read somewhere that there are a bunch of Americans over there now quarantined on one of the ships. Why people keep going on these cruises in the face of this is beyond me.

There it is again. You really don't need to insist that everyone know how retarded you are.

Glad to see you already know your position no matter the reality of the time.

I know a guy who lives in Thailand and he posted a screen shot of the temp forecast with temps ranging from 96-102.

I have to lock myself inside for 14 days? My whole family? I’ve got 3 trips this year. California, Boston and Florida. Cancel them all right? My sons school should be closed I suppose. Who watches him? A daycare? Forcing people to stay away from other people to what extent. Why don’t we just shut down everything and everyone stay home for a month right? I’m trying to figure out what the threshold is for y’all.

Why don't you calm down and think of others for a while. Staying home and doing some self-reflection may do you good. I understand how frustrating this may be, but people's lives are at stake, and your social life and career will be just fine-- even if you take a break.

Schools in New Rochelle will be closed for two weeks, the "containment" zone is 1 mile radius.

It was a reference to an earlier poster. If that happened to me right now, that’s what I would blame.

You seem more willing to debate relative to how you feel about this epidemic. Yesterday you were being an a-hole and labeling all of us in this thread as fear mongering. I appreciate you taking this approach. Most of us aren't in panic mode. It's just been interesting following this thing all the way from Wuhan.
