Going to stock up on ammunition, guns, and then head over to Costco to prepare for a 90 day supply of food. I’m not taking chances.

Also headed to HomeDepot to buy 5k sq ft of visqueen to wrap all of my windows and doors with internally and externally

I'm disappointed in myself that I couldn't remember what movie this was in and had to look it up...

Imagine how many people over there live day to day food wise.

Geauxmedic posted an hour long interview by a doctor close to / familiar with the situation. He was really going in on the government out there so it felt like he had a motive. At least that's what I want to believe, some of the shite he was saying was wild (holding an attempt to have the world's largest banquet 7km away from the wet market AFTER they had already acknowledged the virus)

Regardless, one of the things he mentioned was the fact that culture doesn't practice in "left overs." Buying your food and cooking for the day is just their routine.

The Chinese should not be allowed to flee. That is bullshite. I’m not trying to be heartless but fleeing will only spread the virus. They need to stay in China and once this settles then they can move around. If the animals caused this virus then there own culture started this. Just being honest.

Hopefully other countries have a wall or border to control that

This is not confirmed so I'm not listing it. This most likely stems from this report about long distance bus routes.

quote:

Beijing Suspends Long-Distance Bus Traffic: Beijing will suspend all long-distance bus service effective tomorrow (Sunday) morning. City buses will run normally and roads in and out of Beijing remain open for all other traffic. Trains and air traffic are not affected by this directive. Again: Beijing is NOT being barricaded, only long-distance (interprovincial) bus suspended. No date of resumption of service has been indicated.

Maybe his audience is expected to know that, but it just seems quite likely to add to the panic.

There is, umm, alot of shite that's specifically designed to add to the panic.

That's understandable. I've posted many times in this thread and sifting through the content to post the most accurate stuff

I've had down time last few days so this story has been keeping my attention. I hope it's not as bad as some think, including myself, but I think it's worse than what's reported.

Just like that snap above. City of 11 mil silent over "something not to be alarmed about". Its definitely interesting. Also, my thoughts are for our poster over there. Hope they all get through this and glad he has our support.

The people who really know this stuff are terrified of a pandemic and it is just a matter of time until a real one hits.

Two things seem to be an almost unanimously agreed upon by scientists:

A) it will be an influenza variation

B) it will start in Asia

I find the whole field to be pretty fascinating. They have my respect for hoping into planes and flying TO places under quarantine in order to further our knowledge.

This is why quarantines by China at this point are a joke. They don't work, and many believe they actually spread the virus.

People that are sick are more willing to seek treatment if things are moving openly. The numbers are more accurate that way too. The fear of more quarantines keeps people from self reporting or seeking treatment.

I’ve read some numbers “might have been in this thread even, I’ve been bouncing around a lot” indicating even if the quarantines are 99% effective, they would only reduce the overall case count by 20%.

I wholeheartedly agree it's interesting.

Fwiw, the WHO hasn't labeled it a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) yet, a label that's probably coming but promising nonetheless.

The part I find so fascinating is the geopolitical aspect thats intertwined in all of it. You're seeing the best and worst of authoritarian government - building a 25k Sq ft hospital in 6 days, but post on Snap Chat that it's SARS, get detained/harrased by the police.

This is the first thing I’ve seen that’s concerning. That is a pretty significant pneumonia
