I work in a nursing home in south Louisiana. No cases so far (so they say) but can’t but help worry about my little people. I’m contract but need to see residents to do my work — the work itself can be done from home.

Not a soul at the home has mentioned any plan should one be needed.

Cool. The half that can and are still in offices should start

The way things are this weekend, the ambulance service workers and 911 Centers will see it first - a spike in this sort of illness runs and calls locally in cities and counties that fit the obvious criteria to cause alarm. It's pretty obvious. There are people who know a little more than others at this point. A lot are UAD's that don't go to the hospital at all. Pronounced dead on scene and go to funeral homes.

Yikes. 2 days ago it was 769 new cases (see below, bottom right). I hope it is because they are doing more testing. But I doubt it given the plans to lock down northern Italy

A month ago everyone acknowledged that things were really bad in Wuhan but most questioned if it could happen outside of China. The answer now is clearly yes.

That’s Wuhan level stuff. That should scare everyone.

How many on TD do you fellas and gals believe truly grasp what is happening here?

And for me the most infuriating thing about it all is how everyone is an expert on this virus when it is NEW. It won't be understood in its entirety until long after it runs its course.

Over the last few months since following this story I've heard every theory mentioned as if it were fact. No one really knows shite except what they are experiencing first hand in a hot zone.

I got blasted on Poliboard for even insinuating a nation could collapse. I pray Italy does not, but I can't see how they wont unless they go full Chinese lockdown (hardcore). Without a Great Firewall of China to use its massive network to erase any video or print of what is truly taking place, or hire 50 cent army to go on social media and claim videos are faked, etc, Italians will film how hardcore that type quarantine truly is. Maybe people will wake up then and there.

I suppose a collapse of a Nation isn't completely out of the realm of possibility but Italy currently has 7,375 documented cases. It will certainly get worse before it gets better, but this is a far cry from collapsing a first world country

Oh hey, look. It’s one of the end of the world types from the start of the thread.

The video of the fat Australians fighting over toilet paper must have given him enough sense of validation to come back.

Think about that for a second. Even those idiots recognized you're a bigger idiot.

Reevaluate your life.

It’s not the 133 today. It’s the number for tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, etc...

And a few weeks ago they had one case, do you think it’s containable with 10k people running around infectious and spreading it within their borders? So what does them having a lower number, while people are still being infected, have to do with anything?

How are they documenting 7500+ cases if the test kits are so hard to get???

Funny thing is that after one of his outburst/rants, someone told him to go the Poliboard because they’ll accept his conspiracy theory dooms there.

He apparently listened, but was tossed out there too

Are you arguing that Italy is going to collapse? Because that's literally my only argument in there - that it's highly unlikely to collapse.

I’m given the option to work from home.
But I’d prefer to be in the office. Just easier with all my monitors and what not.
Unless they demand I work from home, I’m not going to
