Exactly. This problem has to be dealt collectively. Stats shows that it’s deadly with folks that are 60+ and underlying conditions. So l’m not in this group and if I catch the virus, I can’t have a carefree attitude and show up to work. That’s because if I shake hands with an 65 yr old coworker with health issues and he dies, then his death is on me. So we have to think about things and people beyond ourselves to beat this.

I really don’t want to turn this into a political fest, but this is the kind of shite that could cost him dearly in Nov:

It was just a RECOMMENDATION, not a ban. But oh, we can’t have people thinking it’s getting worse.

Is this guy Trump’s uncle?

I'd like to live in that world Pete but unfortunately we live in the most self-centered time in history.

You know how many age discrimination lawsuits would pop up within the first hour of this in our country?

For publicly saying that maybe they shouldn’t fly?

Not prohibiting.

Suggesting.

You serious, Clark?

My bad. Falsely assumed it would be a ban. Just quickly scanned instead of reading it.

I don't think airport testing accomplishes much of anything.

My point was that they are vigilant about things like this year round and if someone entering the country has a fever, they stop them.

On the other hand, you have a known virus in known locations and our DHS isn’t even screening at all, not even to ask the question “what part of China have you visited in the past 2 weeks” when this was getting big all the way to know that they are allowing unrestricted or monitored travel from Italy, the current hotbed.

The nursing home in Washington still doesn't have enough test kits to test employees per a press conference just now. I know its a nursing home with old folks but they also said you can go from showing no symptoms to death in just hours.

Yikes. 2 days ago it was 769 new cases (see below, bottom right). I hope it is because they are doing more testing. But I doubt it given the plans to lock down northern Italy.
