So here's a semi-serious question for Scruffy.
Being as Italy just blockaded off an entire region of its country for a month (Lombardy) is it totally out of the realm of possibility that never happens here?
I ask Scruffy because he is one of the level headed physicians here.
Please thank Scruffy for his time.

Very likely that there will be some sort of quarantines here in small areas that get overwhelmed

Just like SXSW the petitions to cancel have gone up and local residents are concerned.
Looks just like Ultra and SXSW, the promoter is waiting for their hand to be forced to trigger their insurance policy, which sounds like will pay out close to 100 million

367 new cases in Korea... Number of new cases drops to the 300s for the first time in 10 days
Best news in awhile!
Numbers have been dropping over the past 3 days:
518 --> 483 --> 367
We need to get our act together and follow the blueprint SK has shown us.

So were only going to have 75 million cases now?

Another case, Santa Clara, has been traced back to India. We saw this with Iran and Italy right as they started to blow up. Also, numerous cases have been traced back to Egypt but they continue to report low case volume.

New study out that adjusts CFR for delayed mortality and incomplete testing.

Jeez, with numbers like those, I may actually get social security

The head of the Lombardy's intensive care crisis unit says the health system is on the brink of collapse, intensive care being set up in hallways. By March 26 they predict ~18,000 #Covid19 cases in Lombardy, of which ~3,000 will need intensive care.
Thankfully we don’t have shitty European socialized healthcare here in the states.

I have arrived to the mountains for Spring Break, where are we in the current level of panic. Should I just extend the vacation a week or two?

Link? I am interested in the assumptions they used to get the adjusted for unidentified symptomatic cases. The South Korea data appears to support the WHO assertion that there aren't a lot of undetected minor symptom cases out there (where there are adequate testing protocols in place). We know that the naive CFR for SK is 0.7% (much lower than what they are showing for Hubei). Playing around with the SK data produces an adjusted delayed CFR between 2.0 - 2.5%.

It's also most likely going to occur here and in every country that will be effected.
