Governor's statement appears to have been updated. No longer says man. Gender neutral. I'm assuming Trump was correct in his speech?

Thanks for catching that. I deleted my post, given the confusion around this.

3 health workers at the Tenon Hospital in Paris were contaminated by a patient who is in intensive care since Feb. 21.

Reported by Le Monde. Didn't clarify if "contaminated" means infected, or exposed to potential infectious material.

CDC briefing says that there are 2 confirmed cases in a Washington State nursing home that has over 100 residents.

quote:

BREAKING: Washington State Governor Jay Inslee declares state of emergency due to coronavirus

These state of emergency declarations are mostly a bureaucratic step that is needed to unlock resources to respond.

The CDC said in their press conference that there is a possible outbreak in a nursing home in Washington. A health care worker there tested positive for it.

So with the 3 new cases reported today, that brings us up to:

7 known community spread cases in the US
1 death out of these 7

Wow: The long-term care facility in Kirkland linked to COVID-19 has 108 residents and 180 staff members. So far, 27 residents have symptoms as do 25 staff members, according to Washington officials.

There is still some confusion over the death. Trump said it was a woman but the CDC keeps saying it was a male in his 50s.

The Princess Cruise ship that had over 700 people test positive, and quarantined, have now all been released after passing two negative tests. 1 person died. Their pre existing condition unknown.

So 1 in 700 in quite literally a controlled lab setting, is a mortality rate of 0.00something.

Found these signs at Life Care Center of Kirkland “No Visitors: We Are Having Respiratory Outbreak.”
@NatashaChenCNN confirms- there are about 27/108 residents and 25/180 staff who have reported symptoms that might suggest coronavirus. @KIRO7Seattle @CNN

The 700+ passengers who were stranded on that cruise ship and infected with coronavirus have all been cleared to disembark. Only one fatality aboard the ship.

Detroit's a virtual ghost town. Just put a wall around it like Escape From New York and be done with it.
