Are Italy and Spain past the worst of this thing. I haven't been following super closely, but it looks like their cases aren't soaring like they were before, and deaths have started to decrease slightly from when they were both in the 800 or 900s everyday.
I just want there to be light at the end of the tunnel.

Italy's number of patients in ICUs has dropped for the 3rd straight day. Today's drop of 106 patients was pretty big, from 3898 to 3792.

What comes out of today in Wisconsin should be very interesting. Milwaukee has reduced open polling sites from 30-something to 5 and most places have followed suit. So there's going to be hundreds/thousands of folks crammed into a limited number of polling places across the state.

Nashville's projections get better each day from our perspective. We're still much higher than Cooper says, but I'm guessing it must be Davidson only or something.
We're going to see some alarming shite the next couple of weeks, but I think the light is getting brighter at the end of the tunnel. I don't think we'll have shortages or as many space issues as other major cities, largely because of the healthcare hub we are.

By alarming I mean huge upticks in cases and deaths. People who aren't paying attention will be surprised by it. I assume most people on this thread are expecting it though just from being well-informed. We just need to teach the people around us what is going on and explain that rising numbers don't mean this quarantine isn't working.
I don't think we'll have more than we can handle in our hospitals in Nashville. Right now we're not projecting a shortage of anything.

We're likely not going back to work until June now per conference call today. We issued April 30th 4 weeks ago.

I'm going in once or twice a week. The executives still want their face to face meetings and paper reports, so when I've got deliverables for them I suit up and go in.
I actually enjoy cleaning up and getting to the office. Never thought I'd ever in my life say that.
ETA:
Until June is crazy. I have to think at the end of April things start to get less locked down. We've got to start phasing in the economy while just maintaining social distancing, hand hygiene, mask wearing, and isolating vulnerable population.
We've got to.

Do we know if 1) a second wave will come (I know, plan for it) and 2) any idea if this thing is mutating? Would a second wave be not as bad?

I pray you're right. Daughter really wants to go to school for a "real semester" and oh yeah, we've got a lease signed for an apartment so ... if they do online learning & we're still paying rent, I'm letting her go. She's a rule follower and will be just glad to be back "near" campus.

A second (and third, and fourth) is inevitable until a vaccine. Hopefully they're smaller and smaller each time and hopefully they are contained to certain geographies.
Rapid C19 testing and antibody testing are the keys here. We need to know our herd immunity everywhere to prioritize risk.
