I've seen this explained on this board probably a dozen times this week. Amazing that people still don't seem to grasp it.

I did see where the New York Times interactive map has about 70k dying as a best case scenario.

So more people are gonna die in the best healthcare system in the world than the 3rd world shithole it came from?

The fact that a major news publication printed that should tell you the conspiracy. You’re witnessing the greatest misinformation campaign against the American people in its history.

I live half my year in Europe for work. I spend a whole lot more than you do.

Nor have you. They walk a lot more than Americans. They aren't fat as a whole. Many spend a good bit of time on a bicycle. In Italy I don't see walkers or wheelchairs. I sometimes see people using canes.

My assumption is that they did not want to test a lot initially. They know a lot will catch it but not die. If everyone knew they had it, even if not serious they would flood hospitals, and we would start seeing photos and videos on Facebook of people dying in hallways of hospitals. That would only increase the fear. As everyone as said, they need to flatten the curve over a long duration to allow those who will die to perish in a hospital room and not on a gurney in the hall to prevent further hysteria.

its bad because:

its super contagious and stays that way for anything sick people touch for like 48 hours

no matter what is done I think large portions of people will get sick from it and maybe even have 5-6 more people die from it then the 30 dead we already have

its not bad at all because:

its slightly worse then having a bad cold but not as bad as the regular flu

only sickly people who are old or have compromised immune systems are in danger of dying from it

no matter how many ways they try to scare you, more people have died from the regular bad cold in the same time carona scare has been going on

Wow, I found an intelligent response in this thread.

Seriously, you have to overreact in this situation to slow down the spreading of the virus. There are too many dummies in this country that need to have limitations put in force to slow the spreading down. We don’t want to get to a point where our hospital system can be overrun.

Estimates from the experts are 87 milllion infected plus or minus 15%. If you are brave enough for the truth google Micheal Osterholm and/or read his book predicting all this. He is a professor at university of Minnesota and guru on this shite. They put out warning in December that was ignored, and had it starting to bloom here in last week of February/first week of March. They have it modeled on their website

I don’t think anyone is hiding anything. We don’t how many people have the virus due to a lack of testing. Therefore, everyone is trying to be as proactive as possible to flatten the curve. It may be overkill. But we don’t know and are not going to take the chance.

It sounds like the focus is more on slowing down the panic than the spreading of the virus. Or maybe equally.
