Maybe we can get people fired up about cleaning the lakes like they do protesting and do some volunteering to clean it up.

Whatever happened to that plan to finally dredge the lakes? I know it was expensive as hell and having issues with funding, but has taken any steps closer to becoming a reality?

It’s creeping along.
Supposedly the state and BREC have put up funding.
The BRBR has something about it Monday of Tuesday I think.

I'd believe that if you said "Steve Carter" instead of Piazza.

Carter qualifying to run for mayor with 45 minutes left to go before qualifying closed on the last day is a real head scratcher to me.

He will siphon off all of the Republican votes in his former senatorial district which is the area around Southdowns and Highland Road south of LSU.

Plus, he's 78 years old.

When I read he had snuck in at 11th hour, that’s exactly what I was thinking. It makes no sense.

Now I always thought he did a good job for his people, but why become mayor at 78? Why at the last minute? Why mess with Watson?

This is the reason people like SWB, and JBE always get elected. The Right always buries there own, and kills whatever base they may have.

No its because we don't choose the right candidates to vote for. Ralph Abraham would have beaten JBE because every republican would have voted for him, there was a group of republicans that where not gonna vote for Rispone. So they either stayed home or voted for JBE. For a state that is solidly red in Presidential elections, I'm amazed that we have a 2 term Dem Gov. That tells me we have a lot of Purple(Blue+Red), voters when it comes to local and state elections.

And one of them, admittedly, is Piazza. I will never ever ever ever vote for any “republican” or “conservative” who supported JBE. That shows me that they are either stupid, corrupt, blind, or fatally dishonest.

This is a myth. Abraham didn’t have the money to run with the big dogs. His rather ordinary showing in the first debate didn’t inspire and he didn’t get any momentum and his money dried up.
Rispone only did as well as he did because of his own money. Republican donors sat on the sidelines or even backed Edwards. Edwards got his vote out and the rest is history.

Because Watson has a realistic chance of making a runoff, and the powers that be don’t want a republican mayor.

Voting for Broome is a pretty huge red flag too. Maybe he’ll seek an endorsement from Gary Chambers next

Cormier in the mix too.

YouTube interview

This interview link that you shared should be a showstopper for any Republican considering voting for Piazza.

He says: "I'm conservative, you know, fiscally conservative." This is moments after he says he voted for Broome and Obama. He is a scumbag talking out both sides of his mouth. I would love for one of the other Republican candidates or an interviewer to ask him what about Sharon Weston Broome, Barack Obama, or John Bel Edwards appeared to be conservative and see him stutter all over his answer.

He’s a child with no real calling in life so he decided he’d run for mayor to get his name out and give him something to do.

Added to OP. Should be no doubt who really is behind the Piazza campaign now.
