Chord Cut est: 70 int + 40 Vue + Content (Hulu/Net) + Premium Content (HBO/Cin/Show) = 175

So you're paying $100 a month for all that on Direct TV? Do you lose your connection during storms?

It's $49.99/month for 60mbps in Birmingham. Of course that's Charter and there's some competition here.
I'm paying per month:
Internet: $50
Netflix: $10
Amazon Prime: ~$10 (one time payment per year)
Starz or HBO: ~$15
Antenna: $0
That's $85/month.
I bum my dad's password for ESPN's channels, but if I didn't, I'd be paying $25 for SlingTV, and that's a total of $110/month.
Now, here's the best thing about it - Football season ends? Bye bye SlingTV. My HBO show concludes? Peace out HBO. Nothing on Netflix right now? Cancelled.
Before I was paying $50/month for Internet and $75/month for a basic package for DirecTV. That didn't include HBO, Starz, or Netflix.
My bill also kept mysteriously going up every few months, and I'd call and they'd say some random promotion for me ended. I'd haggle with them and threaten to cancel (which would have a $20/remaining months buyout fee) but they'd end up caving. That's how I got NFL Network and SEC Network was through deals they gave me to keep me from cancelling.
One month they "couldn't" keep my same price and it was going to go up by $20/month or something and I just said frick it. I was right at my contract re-up and got out without paying a buyout.

It's DirecTV Now, which is a streaming service. I don't lose connection based upon weather.

I have a hard time believing anyone who says they have cable and/or DirecTV with the premium channels for less than $120/month. That doesn't include internet service either.
ETA: My issue is I've only ever lived where there is a single dominant cable company, as is the case now.

Before we cut the cord we were paying $164/month for cable tv and internet. We realized we still watched Hulu and Netflix the majority of the time. Cut the cord, get U-Verse for $40/month and for our purposes haven't looked back. If there is a game I want to watch I'll use someone else's login for ESPN.
That is the rub, being able to use a login. Without that I would have to decide if $120/month is worth the live sports, or if there is a cheaper way to stream.

When DTVNow first came out, it was a promotional price of $35 for the Go Big package. If you signed up for 1 month, you got a "free" FireStick. If you signed up for 3 months, you got a "free" AppleTV. Basically, you tried out their service for free while purchasing a FireStick or AppleTV.

Shite you'd be paying upwards of 300 bucks for all that from Cox in BR or Lafayette. I was paying 230/month when I left and I had no premium channels, 1 DVR box, and was on the 20MB down internet tier.

Yep, I prepaid 3 months and got a "free" AppleTv (which retails for $150), and now I'm grandfathered in at $35/mo in the Go Big package which originally only had 70+ channels, but now has 100+. And, my HBO is currently free, I'm not sure why, but I'm not complaining (it was originally $5/mo).
My original comment was directed at someone who stated that the only way that you can get similar content for less while cutting the cord is if you use other people's passwords.

I would be ignorant if I did agree that the quote above does not hold some intrinsic value.
It's why I consider chord cutting every time I review my quarter statement.
