I’m truly amazed that responses like that from officers aren’t met with gun fire.

People sitting on their porch are not threats.

That was way overblown

is ‘boot licking’ the new buzzword for supporting the police? Because in general I support the police, but not in every situation as with this specific example. Am I a “boot licker”?

The irony of course is the same people were saying you need to resist stay at home orders issued by the same police during quarantine

You absolutely nailed it. And I say that as a conservative.

It's not the only thing but the hero-worship of the military and police varieties was honestly one of the first things that put me off voting GOP

If by new you mean decades old, sure, especially in this scenario. You would have to be a Cop Cuck not to see the issue with this example

I’m not defending it. Just making an observation. I like to be involved in all the buzz terminology and trends. Some really interesting trends and shifts in positions over the last few days.

Yeah, that's stupid. Cop should be charged.

I suppose I have my own thoughts on folks who say disobeying a police order can result in death or a hospital visit-- that is unless they disagree with the order, in which case disobedience is a good thing and they're all of a sudden patriots.

It’s always been used to describe people that suck up to authority. Particularly the government

Lol. Nice try

That is how you make people want to see bad things happen to the police.

They were thugs and bullies

Even a simpleton should see it. Did this sort of thing happen last week?

Looters didn't cause these guys to completely disregard their ROE.

Yeah let's go through a residential neighborhood and just shoot people. That will quell the riot.

To be fair, I heard them say get inside over 5 times and then they specifically pointed at them and told them to "get inside now!" and I am pretty amazed that they just decided they weren't going to listen even when the gun was aimed in their direction. They were very bold.

I don't know that they needed to shoot paintballs at them, but then again I'm not some place where they are trying to enforce a curfew so more people and places aren't attacked.

I skew pretty libertarian but recognize that we do need law enforcement to some degree. They shouldn't be able to force people in their homes under the threat of violence either.

Where did this happen?

They? All of the cops? Or just the one who pulled the trigger? Just to be clear

Just curious how that could be construed as a legal police order.
