So the 19 people who downvoted this.. I bet they would give any cop a hand job.

Look, I don't hate the police... I know we need law enforcement, but I know the job appeals to a certain type of jackass (I am not saying everyone who wants to be a policeman is a jackass, just that there is a certain type who is attracted to the job) and people like him are the worst. Learn how to communicate. The way he approached it is how you make people become defensive. I think when the dude said "that's my ride I am going to go" the cop made his mind up that he was going to arrest him.

I have literally not met one cop or anytype of law enforcement that doesn’t have some type of god complex. On top of that I’ve been around probably 20+ cops that drink excessively and have driven drunk numerous times. How do I know this? They brag about it

how difficult is it to give the cop your ID when he asks for it? I do this and I have never been assaulted by a cop. seems pretty easy?

How difficult is it to shine my shoes if I tell you to? The point is that we are free men, and we don’t take orders like that.

There are a bunch of "auditors" and cop haters on this thread. They all will be the ones crying first when they are a victim of a crime.

The guy in this story WAS a victim of a crime. The perpetrator was a cop.

except you don't have to unless you're driving or being arrested and that's protected as a constitutional right.

If a cop gets upset that you're exercising your right to not give him ID unless it's warranted then that's his fault.

Why cede even more power to them than they think they already have over you?

You guys just want to erode your own constitutional rights in favor of giving these fools all the power in the world

This is the most succinct, clear and compelling reason that all overreach by any government official should always be met with legal resistance.

You have the right to be left alone and agents of the government don't have the authority to violate that right.

I just saw an update. The cop is no longer employed by the Edgewater police department and charges have been dropped against the victim. A criminal investigation into the cop is underway. Apparently he had previously been intoxicated on the job and that got swept under the rug. If that's the case, the entire department needs to be investigated.

I like John and his content but can only watch a couple of his videos a month because they almost always make my blood boil. The Street Cop Training videos almost broke me.

You know, I’m probably one of those people in your mind.

Of course I want to be able to call the police. And I want to know the guy that shows up is going to be well trained and of high character

There’s of course the possibility of bad days, but usually the quick escalations and pushing of boundaries is a department culture issue and not isolated
