She's standing next to the code that she wrote by hand for Humanity, which went to the Moon in 1969.

ETA: Also potential legit throwback WYHI

Maybe she can help mentor all of those laid off opinion writers.

My maternal grandfather was a 'coder' for the Saturn missions. He endlessly bitched about having to literally hand-punch code in to a machine bigger than his house.

He worked on the Cassini mission in the 90s?
Or did he work on the Apollo mission that used the Saturn rocket?

Damn crazy how all that was done to put things in space, and yet we cant code a vehicle to get better gas mileage, using all the tech we have now.

That was back in the day when we wouldnt drop things out until they were perfect. "Updates" have ruined that need to roll things out perfectly.

I genuinely think people then were smarter. Technology has made things easy today and while good..reliance on it dumbs people down. Nobody hardly knows how to manually do things anymore.

Internet went out at my office last week for 3 days and my secretary did nothing but bitch because she couldn’t scan and email the bills to the bank to get them paid and said we can’t pay them until ATT gets our internet back up.

I was like you know you can overnight mail them right? Her “ohhhhh”

all of the design/engineering computations used to create the 747 were done by hand or slide rule

I think that people these days know more as a whole, with such easy access to so much information, but people these days don't know how to do more, if that makes any sense. People were more self-sufficient, and resourceful.

You stole this from reddit and this is posted quite frequently because shes a woman and they have even started to jade the true story of her to make her sound more like an EMPOWERED AND INDEPENDENT WOMYN.

Is that the program that almost got Armstrong and Aldrin killed with its inopportune 1202 alarm?

Margaret Hamilton was honored with the Medal of Freedom in 2016. Alternate comment for Poli Board viewers: Obama attempting to strangle one of America's premier scientists.
