I still have 20/20 vision at 41 but I know my time is coming. Hopefully I'll just need reading glasses.

Yes, your eyes will start changing soon. Like your wife, I wear both. I wear contacts to work most days but reading is not as easy as it used to be. I wear glasses when I get home from work and on the weekends.

I wear glasses 365 a year. They’re beat to shite. Not buying new ones unless I have to though.

Don’t like contacts and I’m too much of a pussy to do lasik

I've had contacts for 10ish years. Never had the problems that alot of people have and I honestly sleep in mine and all sometimes just cause I forget theyre in. My dad absolutely cant wear them though, constant eye infections, etc.

I wear both. I wear contacts mostly, but often where glasses at home if I’m not going out. Neither bother me personally.

Something has gone wrong in the past year with my eye sight. I have multifocal contacts but it seems my eyes are playing tricks on me. Gotta do something else soon.

During allergy season, contacts are a royal pain in the arse. But then, wearing glasses all day kind of sucks too. I'm with you on the LASIK thing.

I have no issues with my contacts. Usually wear them until I’m home for the night and then switch to glasses. I had problems up until I started using ClearCare which seems to clean them a lot better than other solutions. Just need to let them stay in it for the night.

I can make my 6 month prescription last for 2 years if my eye sight doesn’t change normally. But it’s been changing rapidly lately.

I have astigmatisms in both eyes. I wish i could justify the cost to wear contacts year round. My contacts are more than $200 every two months. If I use dailies contacts it’s even more. So I wear glasses unless I’m going tailgating or some other all day outdoor activities. I have prescription sunglasses, but I couldn’t get the ones I wanted because my peripheral vision is distorted in sporty frames like Oakley.

I had just about made my decision to get LASIK , until my coworker’s wife got a bad infection along with 5 others that got their eyes done the same day. She still can’t see correctly out of one eye and has to get special hard contact lenses to be able to see.

I know that isn’t a typical result of LASIK, it just put real doubt on how bad is it to wear these glasses. I may change my mind again, but as of now I’ll deal with it.

I wear contacts on days when I go to work or go out, so about 90% of the time.

I wear glasses on off days when I stay at home and do nothing but drink and watch tv.

I’m a daily contact wearer. Went from 100% glasses to 100% contacts. Well, almost. I still wear glasses at night after taking out my contacts.

But, daily contacts were the best decision I made. Those month-long sessions were killing my eyes (literally). Thinking about LASIK. Note sure if I’m even a candidate due to corneal scarring caused by leaving in my damn contacts for most of a decade.

Only thing that's holding me back from lasik is not being able to wear contacts for two weeks beforehand. I haven't ever worn glasses, and I can't be wearing those stupid wraparound ones while working. I'd have to wear safety glasses on top of them as well

Same here, i’ve worn contacts/glasses since 7 yrs old, so almost 40 yrs.. i have astigmatism so contacts were extremely uncomfortable til i got a little older and the technology changed.. now I wear ‘Toric’ contact lenses 75% of the time, glasses the other 25%.

For many years I planned to have LASIK, and most people i know say it’s the best money theyve ever spent- but i also know several who have had nothing but problems, their eyesight wont ever be the same again, they’re out thousands of dollars and *still* have to wear glasses.. i know that with my luck, i’d Be one of those people.

Also, most people in this thread seem to have never heard of Zenni.com.. i get all my glasses there; the frames are nice and the vision is always perfect; they are a fraction of the price of what you get in stores, and yes made in China- but so are the ones at Pearle Vision, LensCrafters, etc.. i have dozens of pairs laying around, inc Rx sunglasses that i wear to go running, workout etc. .. might be the only example i’ve ever come across in life of something that seems too good to be true- but isn’t.

I have to wear glasses. My eyes do not like any contacts.

I had LASIK done in 2003 but I do so much reading and computer work that the result did not last. I loved it while it lasted.
