no right off of I10 at the La Ave. exit. Can't see what soil issues they'd have there considering an entire shopping center is built directly across the interstate.
Seems more like Buck-ees is having second thoughts. Probably from all the bullshite the local politicians want on the DL.

I had heard there was soil issues, but who knows. That spot isn’t the hood, but it’s hood adjacent.
I wondered how Bucee's was going to deal with the local employable population. It's not hood adjacent, it's deep in there. You could throw a rock and hit Section 8 apartments across the street.

Not surprising. Everyone and their mama comes into Lafayette with big plans. Very few can put up with the shittiness of the city and the outstretched hands of the local politicians.
With Blanco Jr now in office wouldnt be surprised

Louisiana is going to somehow F up Buccees.

right. Bucees may have taken a look at the local work force and decided to save their money. Nothing can kill a business' serivce reputation like a south Louisiana urban minority member, or a white trash south Louisianan coonass (often times indistinguishable). And theres a plethora of both in that area.

the last thing this state needs is a trashy buccees

Disagree. Buccees bbq sandwiches are better than nearly every bbq restaurant in the state, and are typically cheaper too.

the Google earth pic from 2024 shows them cutting timber and the ground looks like a bog

But they did successfully open in Mississippi, and they are at least in a good area, but Mississippi is and always will be Mississippi. In Louisiana, they chose a decent spot in Ruston (directly on the route to Hot Springs & Branson), but the Lafayette location is the drizzling shits. Really, I think they saw what CFA does in that spot, but that's a different animal.

The service at the chic fil a is one of the worst I have been to…

Look at that area now it’s dry and clean no reason for the soil to be bad. That’s just a BS excuse

This board is going to melt when the Ruston Buccee’s opens before Lafayette.
Something, something, something…North LA sucks…

Don’t go to the Mac D’s there then.
I would like to know how many millions of cubic yards of dirt they needed to fill that southside prior to construction. Looks like more dirt is needed on the north side of but not a civil. That area has been a swamp since Columbus discovered California.

Why a beach theme?
They have the whole gulf cover and they pick Lafayette for a beach theme?

Yeah, its always been low. Going to require a lot of dirt and a lot of compaction work. There is a reason nothing has been built there.
Well, two reasons but we can fix the soil.
