Ok, how about we play a game and say it's true, I don't care. The right to keep and bear arms shouldn't be predicated on the behavior of criminals.

Background checks went into effect and deaths started to fall. The red line went down.
Wrong. Red line was going down and then it kinda went flat in 1998. Try again.

This is the face of gun control in New Jersey

Sometime into 1994 though the interim period before the NICS went into effect meant very little actual background checks were done prior to 1998.

Seriously. There's no control in this "experiment"

This Country has gone to shite. Between the SWJs and Anti-Gun people, I have no hope for our future. Gun laws mean nothing to criminals...they don't get them legally.

So what does a guy in the army do from Connecticut when he's 18-20 in the Middle East? Use a knife?
I am pretty sure he doesn't have to buy that pistol and he isn't in Connecticut when he is in the Middle East.

A large caliber handgun in Australia cost -/+30000 on the black market because of gun control. If you have 30000 dollars to spend on a hand gun you dont need to be a criminal.
We're not in Australia and that is not the case here.

Fact? You are delusional.

I think you can have gun rights along with gun control. We need to stop clinging to a line written 200+ years ago as a end all on the subject. As for other beliefs I don't fit into a neat little box.

We just need a lil time, you know. For those guns to "work" themselves out of the hands of criminals. I mean, how long could that take? Bottom line, we just need a lil time, all this will work itself out.
In the meantime, ban them all. Let honest folk fend for themselves against the criminals. Just for a lil while.

What part of gun control will have an impact on criminals?

There's nothing wrong with 200 + year old principles. We haven't become another class of human. Still the very same humans we were dealing with back then.
Truth is, we have a societal problem, but rather than deal with those societal problems, you and those like you want us to surrender Liberty as if that's going to fix the societal problem.
NOT WILLING TO SACRIFICE that. Take responsibility and fix your problems. Start at home. Value having a home... You know, the old fashioned way... With an actual mom and dad that instill values in their kids, and not excuses for their behavior.

Reminds me of the drug laws. It took a little time, but we are a drug free Nation now.

It's called the Constitution. Maybe we should have the same outlook on 4th amendment principles and allow unfettered government intrusion? Or can we pick and choose the ones only you wish to have effect?

Better or more frequent background checks (more than once) for gun ownership. Possibly continuing education for owners.
Also, more of a consequence for lost or stolen guns. I AM NOT SAYING CRIMINAL CONSEQUENCES, but in a situation where the lost/theft proves negligent by the owner possibly a time out of sorts. Basically take a break from your ownership until you respect the right.
I in no way expect my opinions to be popular.
