We need to stop clinging to a line written 200+ years ago as a end all on the subject. As for other beliefs I don't fit into a neat little box.
Well apparently you don't know about the v. Heller decision. I would go look that up before continuing to demonstrate your ignorance.

It's called the Constitution. Maybe we should have the same outlook on 4th amendment principles and allow unfettered government intrusion? Or can we pick and choose the ones only you wish to have effect?
Government is telling you what healthcare you need, what person you can marry, when you can choose to end your own life, what foods to consume, and how much clothing you should wear.
Yet you still are asking them to not infringe on a right they allow you to have.

What a load of bullshite. Please she me wear the gov't, any gov't, is regulating how much clothing I should wear. Or foods I eat. Or when I can end my own life.

Well you obviously don't have a clue on how Rights and the constitution work. BoR is a limitation placed on the Gov't. Rights exist no matter what the gov't says. That's how it works if you had managed not to sleep through Civics.

The supreme court upheld gun rights? Wow, no real surprise.

Better or more frequent background checks (more than once) for gun ownership.
He said on criminals numbnuts. What gun-control laws have an impact on criminals? Answer the question honestly.

Also, more of a consequence for lost or stolen guns. I AM NOT SAYING CRIMINAL CONSEQUENCES, but in a situation where the lost/theft proves negligent by the owner possibly a time out of sorts. Basically take a break from your ownership until you respect the right.
So you think it's ok to punish people for the criminal actions of others. That's an obvious statement made by those that truly don't understand this topic.

Let's blame the legal gun owner for criminals breaking into homes of legal gun owners and stealing their guns...and legal gun owners that accidentally lost their gun in the Walmart parking lot.

Louisiana's law is selectively enforced and the few examples seem to point to those that exhibited extreme behaviors. Piss poor examples but par for the course coming from you.
Portion sizes on what? Sugary drinks? You seem to not be aware that law was struck down by the courts. The transfat ignorance only applies to restaurants, and even then it's not hard to get around. Doesn't apply to individuals at all so your point is wanting. For someone who criticizes others for lack of in depth thinking, you sure as hell don't do much of it yourself...

Also, for food look at what NYC is doing with transfats and portion sizes.

It takes time for guns to work themselves out of the hands of criminals but eventually it happens and homocide from guns goes down...fact.
You might want to look at Australian gun crime statistics since the ban.
I posted a link earlier in the thread.
Fact: When you take guns from the law abiding citizens, all that have them are police and criminals. Mostly criminals.

It's not rocket surgery. Common sense isn't so common these days.

background checks
He said criminals.
I had no problem with a background check when I got all of my guns and my CCW permit.
Guess who won't pass a background check but will still get a gun? See Chicago.
Law abiding citizens have zero issue with background checks. The part that pisses me off is people point to "more" background checks as a solution to crime prevention.
We're not the ones committing the crimes but are being treated as such in the eyes of gun grabbers who erroneously believe taking guns away from every day citizens will magically make gun crime go away.
Do you really believe that 350 million guns will just magically go away?
I know it's a liberal talking point but it's one mired in fallacy. You will never, ever, ever get rid of guns in America.
But by all means, tell them to keep trying until they "succeed".
By succeed, I of course, mean ordering cops to certain death by doing gun seizures from previously "law-abiding citizens"

That is why I added in about negligence. shite is going to happen, it is impossible to prevent 100%.

Despite the swing and miss on sugary drinks, I don't drink the stuff so don't care, the transfat holds true?

You can't legislate to impose penalties on illegal owners, it obviously won't work.
Prevent them from getting the guns would be the approach I would take.
What is the statistic for people commiting homicide that are legally able to own a gun? Not people using an illegal gun, but people commiting a crime that would legally be able to buy a gun anyway. Doubt anyone keeps that stat.

Negligence? How is a gun stolen from someone considered negligence? The only negligence is that he should have killed the frick before he stole it. Lost gun? Yeah, that happens all the time. Damn, did I leave my gun at the Dollar General?

And how do you do that without stepping on the necks of those who would be legal owners? The background checks system currently means nothing so there is nothing to be gained by expanding it (see states that already require UBC's). Penalties to gun owners who are victims of criminal theft certainly doesn't work. 70% of them get their guns through friends, family, and illicit channels anyway.

Probably about 20% of annual firearm homicides at most.

frick someone stole my car, the police chased them and they hit 3 cars and killed a lady. Now I am headed to jail for letting them steal it...

You're the anti-gun guy, you should have some bullshite stats to back up your argument.

How is a gun stolen from someone considered negligence?
Say leaving it readily accessible in a home with a deranged individual.
Leaving it unattended in an unlocked car.
Like I said, it isn't a popular opinion but any responsible gun owner wouldn't leave their weapon in a state where it could be stolen or used illegally.

Do you feel you were negligent in that situation? Did you try to pull an amateur 'bait car' and it backfired?
