Florida Violent Crime Rates have dropped significantly since 1990.

At the same time, Florida has seen their concealed carry licensees increase to over 1.3 million. See stats here

See how I can correlate the two when they most likely have no bearing on each other?

I asked if outlawing guns would have any bearing on gun violence. I didn't say to take them.

I have no doubt what evidence he is copying and pasting about the UK and probably Jamaica or some other country.

Outlawing guns often provokes an emotional response with little actual in depth thought attached.

So it seems we are putting VASTLY more firearms in the hands of the public yet the number of firearm-related homicides isn't following the trend you seem to think it should. Why do
What? Y'all are weird. I bought a gun and I been like, shootin up everything I see!

I don't understand how how people can't see that legit criminals have guns and no amount of legislation will change that. Ban guns next week. Ban the shite out of them. The only people who will still have them will be 85+ percent of the people who already commit gun crimes.

Why would anyone want to live in a country that doesn't trust it's own citizens to have guns, and shouldn't I fear a government who fears an armed citizenry being a checks and balance to their power over them?

NICS went into effect in 1998, Brady Bill, and subsequent background checks, went into effect right where your chart begins. Sure the court battles, but that really didn't stop the locals from doing the baclground checks.

Consider the hypocrisy. The actual suggestion you make is only founded on emotion with little to no real depth of thought attached to it. Nobody who really thinks in depth on this topic would even consider outlawing guns a viable "what-if". Your obvious ignorance and bigotry aside, do you have any thing that stems from your own original thinking or will you continue to parrot the same 4-decade-old talking points?

So instead of wasting your time on the mental masturbation of such an unrealistic scenario, how about you try and explain methods that do seem to not only curtail firearm homicides, but crimes of violence in general

btw, I think me and you are in agreement on this. I don't believe removing guns is the answer. I think making them harder to get/control is. Background checks and gun safety courses are a key to that, at least in my opinion.

I don't need to think deeply about an issue there is no issue over and is a fundamental building block upon which our other liberties rest. That's because i love Liberty. It's that simple. Like saying I like to breath air and drink water. It's a no brainer.

Dude, dead arse serious question. What would this ban look like? Who would they take the guns from and how would they do it? Ad what would the punishment be for having a gun after the ban?

See Australia for your answer. There would be less "gun" crime but the overall crime level would be the same. As well, there are less "gun" deaths but the homicide rate would be the same.

Even with the "ban" in Australia it's cut the gun death rate from 24 to 11% but hasn't been a significant decrease in homicides.

Fact Check

Funny thing about guns... There were massive numbers of homicides before them and there continues to be after they are banned.

You can takes the guns away, but you can't take away human nature.

Except all the evidence points to the contrary in the US. States with permissive "Shall Issue" CCW schemes had decreases in violent crimes at faster rates than states with No-Issue or May-Issue schemes. No state that requires universal background checks and mandatory registration has shown that there is a significant impact on their own crime rates when it comes to firearms. At some point you'll have to concede that your belief doesn't have a lot going for it.

There is your problem. You think law abiding citizens need to be controlled. You realize most criminals don't walk into a gun store and follow the proper steps to purchase a handgun?

You could have kept this troll going for 15 pages of you wanted, but that statement will be the death of it. You outed yourself.

The only people offering logical positions are us "gun nuts." The only ones throwing out stats....are again, us "gun nuts."

Your statement here is pure idiocy. There's no other way to describe it.

He's trolling. There are plenty people on this board who agree with him and none of them will touch the thread now.

My favorite part about these types of threads. There are only a couple things to take from them.

This guy is either so ignorant and such a dick that he won't take the time to read any of this and come to a conclusion.

He's such a piece of shite that he doesn't actually care what the facts are.

He's so stupid that he soaks it all in but can't understand.

Either way his views, and liberal's views of this shite, fall under something close to one of those. And it's like that for tons of issues.
