Apparently the main proponents for including the THC restrictions came from states Attorney Generals (39 AGs wrote a letter to congress earlier this week) and local and state law enforcement departments.
Why wouldn’t they just restrict it at a local or state level? That option was always available. Why not have a separate bill if doing it federally? Why slip into this bill? The answer is of course so no one could vote solely against it, if they wanted to oppose it they needed to think it important enough to keep people from flying or starve people.

Now the limit will be 0.4 grams per product. Just eat more gummies. Instead of a donut you will eat 10 donut holes.
So, instead of a 20mg gummy, I should eat 50 0.4mg gummies? Gotcha.
I've watched as Louisiana has restricted the amount over the past year, yet the prices have not dropped along with the THC content. I used to buy a 100mg bottle of lemonade for $17 that would last me a long time. Now, that same bottle of lemonade still costs $17, but only has 5mg.
Yet I can go buy a bottle of Everclear or 135 proof bourbon with nobody batting an eye at any grocery store.
I am an alcoholic. I've given up alcohol and intend to never drink it again. These THC gummies and drinks have been good for this non-smoker. I don't "need" it per se, but it sure has been nice to unwind and relax with no damage to my liver or hangovers the next day.

Conspiracy theory: Police departments were losing revenue from overall number of DUIs decreasing from the popularity of edible THC products. Package that with declining alcohol sales and something had to be done.
There is no field sobriety test for THC. It doesn't mean they aren't under the influence

No, I'm asking you what did they do to influence this THC restriction?
Give money to organizations like DISCUS and ADSA who spend hundreds of millions of dollars lobbying for shite like this

Well that’s shite.
I’ve actually been enjoying having a gummy or two and maybe a beer or mixed drink and not having the hangover and after effects of medium to large quantities of alcohol.

Do you understand the concept of the lobby? Your obtuse angle here is confusing and out of character.
Are you financially entangled in the alcohol industry? I can't imagine why you're playing ignorant.

It really does not bother me to smell it outdoors in public. There has surely been an uptick in occurrences lately.
What does bug me is people puffing up indoors in public places. Someone apparently thinks it’s fun to puff doobies in my building’s elevator. That’s definitely annoying.

Please explain why that's a bad thing. Thanks.
Because Hemp is no different than Alcohol. We can't say hey lets go get fricked up on alcohol and then say wait this weed is way out of line. Either you care or you don't. You cant just care when its convenient.
For the record I don't care about either just be consistent. Ban both or ban neither.

Feds should get out of the weed/hemp issue. Let it be a state issue. It recreationally legal in half the US States and if you add in states with lax medical requirements way over half. The cats out of the bag. People like weed. It is no more harmful than a thousand other things that are legal. Some of it has some medicinal benefits. When will sanity prevail on this issue at the federal level? Does everyone who shook hands with Nancy Reagan have to die first before the federal govt declares it legal on a federal level?

You post about a British alcohol distributor like you know something about how they influenced the vote on the CR which contains the THC restriction so I ask you what did they do to influence the restriction.
Then you spout "lobby" without answering my question only to also say I must be "entangled in the alcohol industry" which is a total bullshite red herring statement.
Just admit you don't know anything.
You're just a triggered Karen.

They own the largest bourbon maker in Kentucky. They spend milions on lobbying for the illegalization of things that compete with booze, such as hemp products. They very actively pushed this amendment.
You are disappointing as frick. Drink the water you ignroant horse.

Fyi your pussy arse tone has me fired up, so you better bring a fricking anvil to this party because I'm about to frick you up.

Convenient that you ignored my post pointing out they contributed to two huge alcohol lobbies that work to lobby against hemp derived products…. You know, a direct answer to your question

Russian has a financial incentive to support the ban. He isn't dumb but he is predictable. Maybe he'll correct that assumption.

I'm desperate to explain to you how industry impacts policy. Please ask me. We all know you have no idea about any of this.
