What is LSU's enrollment. Anybody know?

Prepare for one of Landry’s political donors to get the job.

Probably rare. When I was on the LSU Parent Page when my daughter was a Tiger, so many were saying how LSU is skimpy on local scholarships and their kids were heading to other universities on full rides. Maybe TOPs comes into play? I hate to get our flagship university is how I am reading it to be.

They barely offered anything to my 36 ACT/4.6 GPA son.
I’m sorry but I’m very suspicious of this. A perfect ACT score and an A+++ GPA? Does he struggle to compose the lose basic of English sentences or something?

I looked up Stamps scholarship and its vague about how its awarded. It's a national group that partners with schools across the country. The parent of the recipient assured me that he had not done anything particularly special as far as extracurricular activities. Had a 30 ACT and 3.8 GPA. If your application to LSU is in by December 15th you automaticaly get considered for it.

Of all the things in this thread that is most hilarious is that any university is better than any other university academically.

LSU’s fall enrollment was 42,000. That includes about 4,500 students that were enrolled online.

Not a myth

It is THE factor. Why give an in-stater a full ride when TOPS will take care of tuition and you can still squeeze fees, room and board out of parents (remember, freshmen are required to live on campus)?
My son had grades/scores to get a full ride offer to Alabama but went to LSU w/ TOPS and a "Legacy' scholarship because he just couldn't stand being around those people. out of state students with lesser credentials got full rides to LSU. Infuriating.

No doubt it is infuriating. TOPS helps, but tuition pales in comparison to fees and living expenses when in college.

Too fricking many for the infrastructure. That’s why the kids are forced to live off campus after their Freshman year. It’s ridiculous. They let anybody with a pulse in now.

A Louisiana kid that grows up an LSU fan with a 30 ACT shouldn’t have to worry about scholarships.

Every single year is the "highest enrollment in school history" even if some of those students don't really have any business being on campus. It's kind of like Western governments importing millions over the express wishes of the people because they must have an ever-growing population and GDP.

Landry is pissing of everyone within lsu, which includes the very conservative base too. He doesn’t know shite about running anything
Maybe he just doesn't like baton rouge.
Or maybe this is the reason.

My son had 4.6+ GPA, 36 ACT, national merit finalist.
Also he was president of band, president of NHS, prom king, voted most likely to succeed, boys state representative for his school… at one of the biggest 5A high school in Louisiana. no I’m not kidding. So if you’re implying he had poor communication skills, he does not. He was very well respected by peers and teachers. This is what LSU does. And yes I’m aware of stamps scholarship. LSU offers this to 12 students a year. You can look it up. He did not get offered stamps either. This is a common occurrence at LSU. Many people similar to my son’s situation have left the state for college. But he got a very substantial 5 year fully paid scholarship out of state including study abroad stipend. LSU’s loss.
My husband and I each earned 2 degrees from LSU and were TAF members/season ticket holders many years. We are actually happy he went out of state after seeing how little LSU values these types of students

With those stats your son would be a fool to go to LSU.
