They are charging for the processing of the meat. The time, use of equipment, pork mixed in and other supplies. They are not selling your meat.

Like ifyou buy a 4H cow and you take it to be processed. They aren’t selling you the meat.

I wouldn’t think having someone else pick it up is an issue unless they process more deer for you than you have tags for.

You’re fine. They are paying for the processing, not the meat

Sorta torn as a hunter, I understand why the law is there, just fosters the "if its brown its down" thought process if one were to do this a lot. I'm guessing someone doing this is probably also killing at night and over the yearly limit.

At the same time, seems like resources could be used elsewhere

We will never have a lot of trophy deer because all of the connasses and white trash rednecks have to shoot 10 deer a year and put their wife’s 4 point on Facebook

The law has nothing to do with food safety.

True, but WL&F do checks were game is process. They check to make sure all game is tagged and that people that do process keep very good records.

Probably because if it was legal, you’d have people shooting every deer they saw so they could sell the meat which would lead to more poaching and over hunting. Deer were almost hunted to extinction 50-60 years ago. Rednecks trying to make money selling venison would put them back on the endangered list

But now we have high fence property where they ranch the deer. In some cases, Venison has turned into a crop.

What % of the deer population you think live on high fence properties? Plus those places are ranching for antlers more than meat

Yes, very limited. One has to jump thru all kinds of crap to do this. Lots of money to do so. Reason as to why you don't see more legal deer sausage for sale.

Probably has something to do with food safety standards and FDA type rules.

Edit: Or maybe not.

Its a gateway crime. It’s starts out as selling sausage and then it leads to running a food truck at carnivals and State Fairs.

I wonder how many baws on this thread argue that people should be locked in cages for simple drug possession, because the law is the law, and if you break the law, you’re a criminal who should be locked in a cage.

how is this even remotely relevant to this topic?

Lots of people on this thread arguing that this law shouldn’t be enforced. I’m simply wondering how many of those same people would make a “blah blah blah, stop breaking the law, a-hole” argument on a thread about drug users being incarcerated.
