Went to Virginia recently, Richmond area to be exact. Went to the Civil War Museum. Very disappointed at the obvious slant to the whole museum was. Very nice artifacts but the films had a totally different spin on what I was expecting.
What was the slant of the museum?
We spent some time in Richmond and the surrounding battlefields too. The rangers we talked to did a nice job of describing what happened, for the most part. Some didn't know much, however.

quote:That's 287. It runs from Beaumont all the way to Amarillo. Not a bad road but some of it was going through construction a few years ago that caught me off guard during the night. No lines on the road to follow where they were doing construction. Thought that was piss poor of Texas and they have the best Hwy 's in the country.
in Texas. I think it's Highway 283 or something like that

Did not look at map.....
Actually, I was pulled over on the side of the road in Arkansas studying the map, while the wife was setting the gps display when there was a tapping at the window. It was an Arkansas highway patrol guy that asked if we were in need of help. The map between me and the steering wheel explained it. He did a fine job of rattling off a dozen hwy numbers and turns. Excellent trooper

Did you bypass all interstates? Tesla has charging stations every 50 miles at least on almost all areas of interstate.
This is absolutely not true in Arkansas or Missouri.

if a person wants to see the real America they must avoid the Interstate hwys.
Sure those small towns have little opportunity but I believe that the folks living there may be closer to God.

The best road in America, IMO, is in Texas. I think it's Highway 283 or something like that.
287 from Fort Worth to Amarillo (hell the run up 87 from Amarillo to Raton, NM aint bad either).
I too, enjoy that drive more than I should.
