It’s a casino. That’s literally what they do.

For roulette only, a casino uses color chips with no denomination on them to determine whose bets are whose.
So if I go buy in for $100, I can request my color be worth $1 of $5. The dealer then grabs that color chip and uses a different chip that says what value they are giving it.
They do this bc if they give me $5 chips and the person next me $5 chips, we both place it on number 21, they won’t know who the bets are for.
The casino only has so many color chips so they reuse the color when they don’t see those chips being used. You are not supposed to walk away from the table with those color chips.

I’m sure that if you ask for the manager and explain it in a calm and rational manner, they’ll see the error of their ways and give you everything that you’re asking for. After all, casinos.and their employees are very compassionate and giving people.

That’s ridiculous, the dealer should’ve asked you to color up first off when you were leaving the table. Also, they admitted to each one being worth five, absolutely absurd that they’d give you 20% of the value that they knew you owed

Why do you think gambling is trashy??
Posted on 8/3/25 at 10:52 am to OGtigerfan87
What if 4 or 5 other people did what you did? The game would be over due to lack of chips. Casino is 100% right.

What are “outside” “inside” chips?
Posted on 8/3/25 at 11:13 am to Lake08
Outside is considered betting things like if it will land on black or red or odd or even. Inside is betting they hit an exact number.
Casinos will typically allow people to use normal chips on the “outside”. On the inside, they normally require what the OP was referring to.

I had to do some work in Helena for a few weeks.
When the closest hotel where you might not get shot is the casino in Lula, it gives you some pause.

What the frick does color up mean and why is the onus on the player when they gave him the chips?
It’s the reverse of getting change. You trade your $5 chips for $100 and $20 chips. The onus is on the gambler because it’s their decision.
In roulette, chips can get scattered everywhere so they will give everyone different colors to keep track if necessary.
The OP was being careless in this situation, not sure why they decided to leave with those chips. Casino would have had to do work to figure out how much he had, which they did, so not sure why OP didn’t recover his funds.

I don’t know that I’ve seen someone leave the roulette table with those colored chips.
Ive literally never seen it.
Also OP what were the table limits?
Regardless its all on camera and you should file a complaint with the gambling commission and they will fix it. Will just take time.
Are you absolutely sure they colored you up knowing they were all supposed to be $5 chips. Would be wierd if others at the table were getting colored up for $1s but you did clarify it with the dealer so makes sense he knew but I would think he wouldve informed the pit boss as well.

Was that your first time ever in a casino or are you just retarded?
Posted on 8/3/25 at 12:23 pm to Breesus
Worst odds in the house.
Retarded to get in the game without knowing what you are doing.
Stupid enough to walk away….too bad.
