Hulu's interface has always been a dumpster fire and I think you still have to pay an extra $10 a month to be able to fast forward through commercials on your own DVR recordings...I think they call it an "enhanced" DVR or something like that. Stay far away from it.

At the rate the streaming services are going, it will soon be cheaper to stick with regular old cable. The price gap is shrinking all the time.

I have Hulu and like it way better than YT. I also have Amazon Prime and the free ones we check now and then like Pluto. It's enough to get us by but it doesn't 100% cover everything. I would need to also add Disney + and the new HBO app to get everything I used to with Cable.
What I hate is that now it's getting as expensive as cable because everyone is making their own app and making their programming proprietary.
Peacock comes out this week so we will see what that does to Hulu and of course, HBO took South Park, etc. It sucks that you need 8 different apps to keep up with shows. It makes cable seem easier.

Ok, man do I have news for you. They came out with a device recently that will let you hack local channels into your TV.... its still experimental, and you probably need to ask the tech board to help you get it set up and working properly.

Same here. If I watched TV for more than an hour and a half every day it might be a problem to have, or not have, such a nerdy television package.

Yeah, I don't want to setup and maintain a hard drive and some additional hardware/software to attempt to DVR my local networks, especially when the other major streaming services manage to include them.
If Sling was radically better than the rest I'd consider it, but it doesn't really seem to be worth the effort, unless I'm missing something.

go with dish network. I pay 65 for 3 tv's and a whole home dvr. I do use a antenna for locals though but it integrates with the dvr well.

Hulu through their app on my TV is a pain but their navigation through a browser is awesome. Using a D-pad on a TV remote feels so archaic. I wish you could use either a mouse or touch-pad with TV remotes so these apps could redesign their interfaces.

When I cancelled Cox, I originally went with Hulu Live. After a few months, I cancelled Hulu Live and went to YouTubeTV.
The user interface is much better on YouTubeTV. Hulu’s was a disorganized mess.
I’ve been pleased with YouTubeTV. It has everything I want and a simpler and more organized interface. I also like the ability to re-arrange my channel listings to my preferences.

Also turns out the unlimited DVR is pretty nice, compared to other services.
It's nice being able to record every SEC game, every week, and not having to worry about space.

I'm about to move to a house with 1Gb internet and am on Dish now. Am planning to give up dish and go with youtubeTV or Hulu. Interesting conversation.
Youtube TV doesn't have History, which we watch a fair amount. That's my biggest drawback to them.
