if you are talking tennis, you are crazy. I have been life long friends with the MCC tennis pro my whole life...great guy. His dad and mine were HS friends. You want lessons from the man, go to Green Acres. Ski is the best.
with the NON-golf clubs, it is interesting how neighborhoods turn over (age wise), and the membership fluctuates.
LCC is nuts now. Bissonet was that way 10-15 years ago. Green Acres was that way before that.
regarding NOCC, MCC, Chateau, etc. if you do not play golf regularly, you are paying for the pleasure of rubbing elbows with certain people. Not my thing, but God bless you if it is for you. If i were to join one, it would be Chateau. Best food at any of the clubs in my mind.

I like Ski and will be taking lessons from him soon most likely. There are some seriously good guys at NOCC. Zach Blanchard being one, but I have met another one.

I would disagree.
I think the food has declined considerably since Glenn left.
The Sunday brunch is still one of the best bangs for the buck in town though.

I grew up behind Delta Playground in the 70's and 80's (left to attend LSU in 1986). Our family were members at Lynn Park Country Club. I did the usual swimming, diving, tennis and even worked as a lifeguard ... got fired for sleeping on the job. LP later changed ownership to Cureton's Sports Club which had a heavy emphasis on weight lifting i.e. Boyer Coe's Gym. Katrina wiped out Cureton's which was demo'd and is still an empty, vacant lot today. I attended swim meets at all the local clubs: Bissonet, Green Acres, Lakeside, Paradise Manor, Beach Club (RIP), Sunrise, Westgate, Chateau, Riverside, and ????

Im not sure about MCC, but NOCC you have to be invited, have to have letters of recommendations, then they vote you in or not. You can also be blackballed with the quickness if you dont watch your mouth
Basically every private country club.

How many people are needed to get you blackballed?

Nah. NOCC isn’t like every other private country club. They don’t care how much money you have and they are very picky.
Sorta of like Augusta

Think 3. They have multiple ad hoc bb committees.

That doesn't make it bougie. It makes it a club. Name one membership club where the help can sit down in front of the members.
Yeah that poster outed himself as not being a member of any sort of decent club.

I’m not comparing it to Augusta, I’m just saying on a smaller scale they are very picky. Like Augusta

So if I called someone an a-hole at Fat Harry's in 1975 I'm fricked?

The NOCC is not picky, at least not anymore. While still a fine club in terms of the clubhouse, golf course, grounds, pool, etc., the membership quality is not anywhere near what it used to be. If you're looking to join for social cache, spend those tens of thousands elsewhere. Don't even get me started on what has happened to the SYC membership.
