I know someone who was shot and killed in this exact situation. Husband came home, found him there, and shot him dead in the front yard. I’d rather not take my chances.

t is dangerous to drive with your flashers on when it’s raining so hard your wipers can’t keep up.
I disagree. It is dangerous when the law says not to. People assume you are stopped and they have to slam on their brakes.

It is.
Hazards are used when stopped on the side of the road to let people know you are stopped.
Driving with your hazards on is the definition of dangerous as people will think you are stopped.
The only appropriate way to use your hazards in bad weather would be to pull over and stop them turn your hazards on.

Which part of that response refutes my point?

The proper response when you find out that your wife is a whore is to divorce the wife and move on;
You have to be a real moron to go to prison for the rest of your life for shooting the other man.

For the record, his example and my example both happened in the same parish.

They’re thinking “you deserve to be shot”
Never understood this type of thinking. If my wife has an affair with another man, why would I be mad at him? I'm not in a relationship with him, so he's not cheating on me. I'm in a relationship with her, so I'm going to be mad at her.

It all comes down to maturity. I think that so much of the high divorce rate is that so many people dont know how to date. It always astonished me to see friends go on one or two dates with a person and all of a sudden that becomes a highly committed relationship between 2 people that don’t really know each other and things just progress. Then one or both of them wake up a decade later and realize they did not know truly know themselves enough to know what they wanted in a spouse before they became married. Then add prevalence of “look at my perfect life/relationship” social media B.S. to the large amount of arrested developed adults and what becomes surprising is the divorce rate isn’t higher. We as a society need to be grown ups.

Do you think it is immoral to help another person break a holy vow?
“Deserved to be shot” is obviously a hyperbole meant to express the extreme emotions elicited. But at least directionally, do you agree that it is immoral to help another person do something that is obviously and fundamentally immoral?
I hope that is an easy answer for everyone.

yet not a single one of them know anyone that got shot for sleeping with a married woman.
My grandfather came close. He was single, right out of WWII, and was messing around with a (not known to him) married woman.
Husband found out. Killed the wife, then shot himself.
Thinking about it still upset him 50 years later.

I agree.
But I'm going to be more upset with my wife.

I agree.
But I’m going to be extremely upset with both.

When someone is sleeping with a married woman everyone's immediate reaction is "you're going to get shot".
I've known a lot of people that had extramarital affairs and I've never known anyone that got shot.
Had a friend who was banging this guy's old lady when he came home unexpectedly. My friend only had time to grab his phone and climb out the window, butt nekkid. He got scratched up going through a barbed wire fence and running into the woods to hide. He called his business partner to bring some clothes and come get him, which he did.
The ho and her hubby ended up getting a divorce, and then my friend married the ho. That didn't last long either, but the 1st husband and my friend are now drinking buddies.

quote:Eh. I got caught last month in the hardest rain I've ever seen on I-49 just north of Natchitoches. I always see these flashers arguments on here so I thought I knew what to do. I ended up seeing people on the shoulder AND people driving slowly with their hazards on...and it was quite obvious which was which. IMO, the hazards made EVERYONE more visible, which was a good thing.
