There was/is a whole lot going on here. I just hope that everyone involved gets the help they need and find the peace that they want. The children and grandchild should always be the priority first and foremost. I hope the money left over from the Go Fund Me is being handled by a sober family member solely for the benefit of the children to help meet their needs. All may not have been as it seemed, but in the end, it looks like it will be used for a good purpose.

donations don't come with strings attached - the money seems as if it will be used for the stated purpose, nothing else is required.

In fairness, he didn't even know her aunt apparently, and no way he was thinking rationally after losing his wife.

Definitely YES to the second part and yes to the first as well ... the Aunt lives in day driving distance but they really don't visit/do holidays/etc.

I'm thinking the kids need the money now, for clothes, food, rent, etc. And whoever is going to provide this for them now should control the money. But I agree with you, that money should be all directly spent on the kids by the provider.

I'm 99.9% positive that the sister Sonya started and then cancelled that .. I want to say a call was made and it's "covered" due to the nature of the death? I can't remember.

I was talking about CDs life insurance beneficiaries in the future if something happens to him. Not the GFM now.
