Well said friend. Such an eloquent way of stating what hell those men went through and were able to do.
I get chills thinking about what the human spirit is capable of during times of war and disaster. Especially in those days of old.

Very much so. The photographer dragged the corpse to that very spot to do the photograph.

vast majority of photos in those days were.
in early days of photography it was viewed like painting. you set everything up like you want it to look, rather than snapping the pic of the untouched scene.

I wonder if the Confederates & Unions got their uniforms from the same vendor. Smart manufacturer. They look very similar.
