Two weeks we will be in Crested Butte. I usually take the PC on vacation to stay on top of things. This time, “not gunna do it”.

Can’t wait.

A friend of mine worked in Ft Collins for a while.
He said it was like he'd died and gone to heaven.

Of course it’s in a relatively smaller scale considering population densities, so for that reason it may seem like there are none here but there are plenty.

That's more what I was referring too. It's still wilderness but Colorado is more developed and overrun.

Salt Lake is on my retirement list. So much to do outdoors with a city large enough to keep you entertained as well. It's not quite as weird as Colorado

Proximity to park city and mountains is excellent, but if you're looking for a bar and restaurant scene...

Only bad thing was that my wife got sick due to the altitude. She said, “Looks like we won’t be able to come back due to the altitude.” I told her, “What do you mean ‘we’”

The I-70 traffic is the reason I'll eventually leave for somewhere like Wyoming or Montana. It's weird because it feels hypocritical to be mad about it but be one of the many transplants causing the issue in the first place

I spent 6 weeks in Colorado for an LSU field geology course. We covered the state. It’s absolutely beautiful there. Started skiing every other year for Mardi Gras shortly after.
I have been in about 10 years. A new trip is long overdue.

We have a place in South Fork (Southern CO) and I spend about 2 weeks of the year up there. I love it up there. So many trails, mountains, reservoirs and high altitude lakes. Don't even get me started on the beer scene and breweries. I'd love to move up there, but good jobs are scarce in the Southern part of the state.

It's here. Lots of little locally owned places and unique cuisines. There's a good selection of bars. No it isn't bourbon street, but what locals go there? We haven't run out of decent bars yet to visit and do have a few staples. My drinking has changed about 0% since moving from New Orleans to SLC believe it or not.

The only big issue is not getting doubles in cocktails, so I have to get more glasses in an evening. That's about it.

We’re trying to plan a family trip right before Christmas as it’s the only time that works for one adult child and two still in college. Still want to go just me and my husband maybe springtime.

I've been up there 3 times already and every time was on my motorcycle. I love riding through the Rockies on my bike and they are very unlike riding in the Ozarks, Smokies and other smaller mountain ranges. The Ozarks and Smokies are filled with tight roads and tons of switchbacks that keep a rider on his toes and your eyes on the road.

The Rockies have massive sweepers even in the upper altitudes and a rider can make good time and take in the beauty of the scenery and not have to keep an eye on the road at all times.

The only problem I had in the Rockies was when up above 10K feet elevation and taking walks on some of the trails. My flatlander lungs were not ready for that oxygen deprivation level and it had me huffing and puffing.

It took me all of a week or so to acclimate to the altitude. I dont even notice it unless im up around 13-14k ft in the mountains somewhere
