I don't remember any college instructors that I hated. In fact most were really cool.

Now in jr high school I despised my band director.
Mark Walker. He redefined prick. I liked band until him.

Chenier though…gosh, what a total bitch she was

She was just so unpleasant. Like you could tell she despised most of the people in the room for whatever reason.

I got a C in her class and got nothing but As on tests and quizzes. She had a rule on the syllabus that said you could replace a regular test grade with the midterm grade, so I told her ahead of time I was missing a test and that I would be using the replacement rule. She authorized it, but after the test day, she gave me a 0 because she decided I didn't meet the "spirit" of the rule. And she wouldn't let me make up the test. It was a cruel trick. I always hoped she was mad that. I still passed her class despite it.

There were a few. I had a sociology teacher was a raging feminazi.

First day of class, this 300 pound lump of tattooed man-hating anger opened the class with:

"I am a lesbian feminist. I am a Marxist. That's right, I'm a man hater and a castrater. So don't try me."

Now this was the Mid 90s, and most of us hadn't been exposed to psychos like this. Not like today where they're a dime a dozen.

I couldn't drop the class because I needed the credits. I just skated by with a "C".

Jeez haha. I lucked out and had Chris Denstel for managerial accounting—dude was the man. So cool.

I took Intermediate 1 over the summer and the first half was taught by Laura Delaune, one of the best accounting professors at LSU IMO. The second half of the course was taught by Chenier. My grade proceeded to plummet accordingly

Asian Art, LSU 2006. It was a Monday night class. Professor was this white woman in her late 40s or early 50s. Every class was the exact same thing. She would talk about how China was the greatest country in the world. She made the claim that Egyptians stole the design of the pyramids from China. That China had invented the circle (seriously, she really did claim that, China invented circles). After every exam the following class would be students arguing with her over grades. She would give the usual "the textbook isn't right" and even tried to claim that we students misinterpreted what she had said during a class, so that is why we were wrong. I ended with a C in the class and I felt like one of the lucky ones.

I took Asian Art as a night class at LSU in 2008, I'm pretty sure I had the same woman, but I didn't think she was that bad on her grading; if I remember correctly, she said as long as you show up to every class you'll be fine, she had a final exam but I got an A so I'm pretty sure she just handed that out for perfect attendance. I wonder if her policies changed after complaints

Biggest thing I remember from that class is discussing Chinese communism, she started making excuses for the centrally planned systems by claiming when CCP officials convene, they really do have the best interests of their citizens at heart and any shortcomings in the system are from other factors. A student objected and called bullshite on her and started an argument and she could come up with no basis for her statement. The guy was obviously right but the students in the class got impatient with him, wanting to get on with the rest of the class so they could get out as early as possible.

I still had my folder from that class in my storage drive. This is what she wrote under Chinese modern art on her syllabus:

quote:

Using the venue of art we have been setting forth an important question in International Studies today: Will it be bombs or brushes? This is not an easy question to answer. China’s more pacifistic approach allowed troops from both Central Asian and Europe to invade not only China, but her neighbors. On the other hand it is not easy to see many loved ones blown to bits. It is a question for discussion.

Dr. Louis Gimbreed. I probably misspelled his name but I dont give a shite. He is dead now and the world is a better place. He was a geology professor at USL in the 70s. He was the worst teacher in the history of teachers. Arrogant, totally unhelpful, perfect a-hole. He was only there waiting on retirement. Unbelievably he was the head of the department.

CM posters (the older ones) will say Duncan Kinchen. But they'd be wrong. That dude was an old school baw that didn't put up with anything.

Had a sociology professor that was on her way out at LSU...made it clear she was leaving for a REAL college not just a glorified football team and couldn't wait to be around actual intellectuals etc etc etc. Well that bitch as a final frick you didn't show up to the final..had someone pass it out. It was garbage.... questions like who was the editor of the textbook, on which page does a windmill appear etc. shite no one could pass.

The Creole lady from Xavier? I remember her.

She had an optional study guide listed on the syllabus. It had practice questions. Her test questions came out of there directly. Or at least that's where she sourced her test questions when I had her.

Can’t remember his last name but Charles something…

He taught Econ and had like 26 versions of the test. Took the final in the Cox building and he stood up on a table, jumped up and down, yelling at people to be quiet. While wearing high top chuck Taylor’s.

He was a hoot

I remember that guy!

I had a professor for Physics II at LSU named Dr. Grenier. Spoke with a heavy French (not Cajun) accent. I had to sit on the edge of my seat and focus on every word he said because half of them I did not understand. He would drone on and on and do problems on the black board. Took a couple of tests and then dropped the class thinking I will take it with a different professor. Next semester he was the only one teaching Physics II so no other option. Take it again and get a little farther into the semester and dropped again. Next semester, guess what? He is the only one teaching the class. I pick up my syllabus the first day of class and only showed up for tests. I used the class time to study and got my C.

Had a professor for Thermodynamics 1 that lectured clearly and informatively. Gave good homework and tests based on lectures and homework. An amazing concept. Made an A on every test and the class. This was my first Mechanical Engineering class and I thought I just needed to get into my major classes and things would be easy. LOL at that thought. Also this Thermo professor retired after that semester so I never had him again for a class.

So how does that work regarding the final? Give correct (textbook)answer or the one the teacher is looking for?
