I think a good argument could probably be made that non-college-educated people are actually a tad more “life savvy” than college educated people

Sometimes I don't need a "life savvy" guy to run the program, I need someone who went to school to specialize in how the program works..

I would also like to say that the ability to critically think and problem solve is very different from the ability to memorize and regurgitate facts. College and traditional education over the last 20 years have learned heavily towards the latter.

I know people with less than high school diploma and I would trust them with my life, and I know people with PhD’s that I wouldn’t let tie my shoes. College doesn’t make a person smart, just formally educated, but there are many other ways to get educated.

I was in engineering at LSU in the 70s, so 20 hours of calculus, the highest math we had in HS was “advanced math,” at LSU it seemed that most students in engineering were from the middle and far east and they had had all of that in their middle and high school classes, I was playing catch up while they were coasting through all of that, same thing with chemistry and physics, got to be pretty good friends with an Iranian baw that helped me a lot with calculus

Agreed, I’d prefer they reported voting by either personal or household income bracket. Idk if that data is available though.

It's appalling how poor academic rigor has become at all levels. It was bad enough when they started teaching to the tests but now they don't even do that much. College students today lack knowledge of the most basic processes of government and science, can't write complete sentences or articulate a coherent argument in writing, can't perform basic problem solving or troubleshooting.

I don't have a single college credit to my name.

Exact opposite of my brother who is a patent lawyer in DC.

I'd take my quality of life in a heartbeat and our wealth is virtually equal.

. in some fields you absolutely have to to have a four year degree, in others it’s a square to be checked off to open doors to enable you to keep moving up the ladder, those gifted with an entrepreneurial and visionary spirit with intelligence, organization skills, and discipline can usually blow most “educated” folks out of the water

This must have to do with the fact that statistics show that "college educated" voters favored Harris and as a college educated Trump supporter you're pissed to be lumped into that category. Who fricking cares?

It's just the LWNJ's in the media looking for a moral victory. College-educated white women are probably one of the least informed demographics considering they usually major in intellectually lightweight majors and go on to low- to mid-paying jobs that shouldn't require any college degree in the first place.

Credentials don’t mean that you’re educated, and going to a top school is these days says more about your social profile than your ability

I’m a huge believer in the midwit curve too, it’s real

If I remember correctly, if you were on the advanced track, in 7th grade you took a semester of geometry and a semester of pre algebra. 8th grade was algebra...and maybe trig? Then 9th was more trig and pre calculus. 10th was some throwaway math or Physics (AKA let's learn conversion tables), 11th was Calculus and Senior year you did frick all.

College education has no bearing on whether or not someone is smarter than the other.

It does however mean that the person has more education than you. This is a fact.

This, however, has no bearing on whether or not it matters or the person is able to put that education into practice.

none of that was a thing when I was in (public) school back then, if I was I guess I was too dumb to know about it
