College Drive cleanup kicks off "massive city wide beautification project"

Thoughts?
A couple things stand out to me.
1. I drove down College Drive yesterday and you can't tell they've done ANYTHING.
2. Why would Plank Road be the next big street to do this on? If they are concerned with what people see when they get off the interstate, that sounds like they are talking about people traveling. Who exits Plank when traveling through town? Why not work on Bluebonnet, Siegen, or Essen?
And why does every fricking project need some bullshite title?

Is this a real question or just pointing out the obvious?

Only thing that will clean up Plank is a bulldozer. Just veer around Tony's

I do not exit College either so why bother.

People that use College Dr. will notice what has been done and will continue those efforts by not throwing trash out, by picking up things when they see litter.
Until they bulldoze Wal-Mart, Albertsons, and the little ghetto north of 10, you aren't getting rid of the trash, whether it's on the ground or the people themselves

Good luck with that Barb

If their goal is this:
...they may want to start with actually doing something about the beggars in that area.
I'd guess that a good portion of the trash around that canal they're cleaning up comes from those same beggars.

I'm with you.
Also,it shows how out of touch Broome is with this city. She really thinks this is something the residents will take pride in? People who live here don't take pride in shite. A lot do but there's more who don't. This project will never be completed and will fade away soon. If she was really worried about making the city look good, how about getting the guys who cut the grass in the medians on the interstate, Airline, and other roads to actually rake up or mulch down the cut grass? It looks like absolute shite when you drive down the road to see huge clumps of cut grass everywhere.

Plank Road is next?
What are they going to do?
Have a nuclear bomb level the area and clean it up?
Get a line of D10 dozers and start from Choctaw and do not stop plowing down buildings until Airline Hwy?
Relocate the city landfill to Plank Road after they demo it?
Why Plank Road?
Even the beggars are smart enough not to hang at I-110 & Hollywood a block or so from Plank Road.

Are they removing people too? Because until that happens, nothing will change.

The work was done the last few days on College. I noticed the difference this morning. No fenders , grass and cigarette butts in median. Actually looked better.
The city wasted no time putting up signs patting themselves on the back.
Now if they just do something about the beggars. You would think Walmart or Albertsons would hire private security to run them off.

Not sure who is responsible for Burbank, but that road side is always nicely cut and trimmed, and always clean of trash and debris.

As long as they leave the wheelchair dude with the funny arse shirt signs alone.
That dude cracks me up.

They would just sit around like the rest of the workers not doing shite
Besides people stocking the shelves, and the self checkout being easy to use, the place really needs no other workers
Everyone working there is useless beyond a handful of people
