That's what all the women golfers is about.

Or pick something more obscure like bowling or whatever.

The sailing one is interesting depending on whether the coach directed any of those funds to himself rather than the sailing program. A program that I’m sure isn’t the most heavily funded. If he was simply using the money to bolster and strengthen the program then I really have no problem in potentially accepting sub par sailors for the long term health and benefit of the program.. Athletes get special admission standards all over the place and part of the coach’s job is to determine which athletes it wants. This is all assuming the coach was unaware of any potential academic fraud

Sounds like a lot of Women are caught up in this scandal.

Is the only woman in that list you provided. Though, you're right if you're implying that daughters of people were the ones that had fake athletic profiles and whatnot.

You’re definitely right. It seems like the admissions departments were not in on this at all, and outside of USC, it was just the coaches.

And I guarantee that no one in the admissions department was following up on how whether preferred walk-ons were staying on non-revenue teams once they were admitted to the school.

Essentially the only thing that happened was the coaches were choosing to pocket bribes instead of adding a good preferred walk-on to shore up their team’s depth.

“I don’t know how much of school I’m gonna attend,” she shared with her nearly 2 million subscribers, after explaining her extensive work schedule. “But I’m gonna go in and talk to my deans and everyone, and hope that I can try and balance it all. But I do want the experience of like game days, partying…I don’t really care about school, as you guys all know.”

sounds familiar

God USC is a joke at this point. It really does need to be burned to the ground.

I’m thinking more in terms of their basketball program than anything Carroll did.

The whole Tim Floyd / OJ Mayo clusterfrick should have resulted in bigger issues than rolling it into the Reggie Bush case.

Yahoo Article from August 2018 with Aunt Becky's daughter saying shes going to USC for football games and to party; doesn't "care about" school.

But, but 2 days later she made an apology video.

Within the last hour or so Trojan Fever deleted this tweet. So far it looks like Lori and Huffman haven't deleted any of theirs.

Sports have scholarship number restrictions at the least and likely have limits on how many people they can even accept as walk ons. So blowing a spot on a kid who will never show up doesn’t happen on teams looking to be competitive.
texas has one of the top programs in the nation for tennis

Blowing a spot in tennis isn’t a big deal at all for a walk on

So what happens for the students who got in because of their parents bribery.

Do they face any sort of criminal trials? Are they kicked out of school. Can their degree be stripped away if their admission into the school was not done fairly.

You can laugh all you want at this girl but she is averaging over 1 million youtube watches per video.

Interesting that they are, for the most part, women's sports teams.
The UCLA coach is already suspended.

My theory upthread was Title IX because there are so many spots to fill on women’s teams and not a lot of talent to choose from.

Having the federal requirement to fund 15 women’s teams that are generally beneath public notice leaves a lot of landing spots for these applicants.

I know a few girls that aren’t bad golfers, but nothing to write home about, that we’re recruited like they were Leonard fournette.

Do they have instagrams where they wear skimpy clothes and play with balls?

Yahoo Article

This story is really upsetting. Plenty of lawls but maddening.

Think about how many students who don’t come from wealth worked their asses off to be qualified to go to these schools and were rejected due to an unqualified someone’s criminal abuse of their privilege.

Almost as upsetting as those students getting rejected due to an unqualified someone’s legal use of their “oppression.”
