Was there front row for Nitro 1997. Hall and Nash were cool guys, until they went into character

Only went there once to watch my brother band play probably mid 90’s sometime. It was crazy fun.

You would find me at Cash’s bar in Ft Walton every year in the late 80’s early 90’s though.

Ft Walton rd was a parking lot. Much easier to walk the mile or so to the bar than drive. Of course the walk back wasn’t as fun.

Wonder if the Party Shark is still alive.

Days were fun at La Vela, but too many dudes.

Nights were more fun. Girls lost inhibitions in this place.

I checked the photo, but don’t think I’m in it.

I had some of the wildest nights and days of my life there.

There was an almost surreal amount of uninhibited behaviors in the 70’s and 80’s.

One of my experiences:

I was drunk and stayed over with a group of girls at a hotel and the one I was with turned out to be a total tease and I got nowhere before she passed out.

I was walking back down the strip around lunch and a group of girls in a white celica pulled over and asked me to buy them a bunch of wine coolers. I agreed to but on the condition that one of them finish what another girl started the night before. They all laughed but then the passenger blurted out “I’ll do it but only if you let my friend watch”. I am certain she said it because she thought I would never agree.

We drove behind a restaurant nearby and she sucked me off while her friend watched while saying “I can’t believe you are doing this Amy!” (I remembered they were from Prattville). I took their money and bought their alcohol for them and walked back to my hotel.

That did not seem that crazy at the time but nowadays it would be epic.

Went back in 2000. I was 17. The let me in during the day and i got to watch the bikini contest. I vividly remember this one chick dancing, doing the splits while slammin her vag down on the pool stage to some ying yang twins. It was amazing. Couldnt get in at night so i hung out on the beach. Met a rapper named mr straight 8. Good times man

Man had great times there in college.

It makes me sad they shut it down after Hurricane Michael. Not because I’d ever go back, just one of those things you know was awesome and hate that young college adults won’t get to experience the awesomeness. Most don’t care anyways, so many kids these days would rather do online dating and be stuck in their phone than play beer pong all day on the beach and go to La Vela fricked up out of your mind and take a chick back to the shitty hotel you’re sharing with 5 other people

Between 92' - 98' there was nothing like it. You didn't see the Underground in La Vela like some of us in here. I seen the fall off and I knew the glory days were over. Chocolate chips, yellow turbos and blue n whites!!!

‘96-‘99 checking in. Oh, the memories. I can’t imagine there’s anything like it today.
