I saw another story where someone was upset he called it an "invention" it was parts of a clock, put back together.
I think going to jail was too far, but I can see why it was removed and he was suspended.

I'm not going to rely upon websites that appear likely to give me viruses when entered.

Dawkins tweeted: “If the reassembled components did something more than the original clock, that’s creative. If not, it looks like hoax.”
Dawkins eventually retreated. He devoted tweets to questioning police motives and tweeted a reference to the new leader of Britain’s opposition Labour party: “Sorry if I go a bit over the top in my passion for truth. Not just over a boy’s alleged ‘invention’ but also media lies about J[eremy] Corbyn.”
In an answer to a Twitter user who wrote: “I think you too frequently confuse ‘truth’ with ‘obsessive and unnecessary dedication to accuracy’”, Dawkins wrote: “That could well be true, in which case I apologise. I guess I’m a bit sensitive about being among the many fooled.”
He subsequently retweeted President Obama’s White House invitation to the boy.
way to stand your ground, dawkins.

so what better way to prove them wrong than by building something with a bunch of wires and a timer in a suitcase and bringing it to school?
Exactly. This was teenage angst that was coddled and encouraged by an activist and failed politician of a father.

and once it was clear that it was a clock they should have said there was no need for police involvement and suspended the kid for trolling the school
So not even a possibility that the kid said something or acted in a way that made the school want to get the police involved for some further questioning? You know better than the people there right?

I'm being completely honest here.
Threads like this one scare me. Before the internet I didn't know there were people like these idiots in the world.
It makes me furious that they have a vote just like me. It also reminds me of how far the human race has to go.

the biggest question of this whole thing no one seems to be asking:
- was this a school project?
- or did he just "randomly" decide to build something in a briefcase that looked exactly like a bomb and bring it to school to show off?
if its the latter, this is nothing but troll-bait, plain and simple.

have they came out and said he did anything like that?
I mean...if he was running around screaming "death to the infidels!" then sure
but I haven't read anywhere that he was acting like that

You people are scary. It upsets me to no end to realize that a lot of humans are superstitious animals and we haven't evolved to a point where you idiocy hasn't been bread out of our species.

Nope not a school project ever at all.
Ahmed surprised his electronics teacher with it and he told him to keep it in his bag. This is all on record.
He pulled it out in six period English class and would not respond to his teacher who called in the principle when she asked him to put it up... This according to published reports of Mark Cubans statement after he talked with school administrators.
