The OT really does allow some of the scum of the south to post their idiocy freely.

edit: Given the state of affairs in America today I'd be more surprised if the kid wasn't in big trouble over the suspicious clock.
Kids get suspended for making gun signs out of their fingers.
Teachers/admin are gonna cover their arse and all bases especially when it comes to something that might (even remotely possible) be a bomb or suspicious device.

If this was all a stunt by the father, he's a genius who needs to be in marketing.
I think most of you are giving too much credit to the father and son.
It seems like that the kid was a nerdy 14 year old who wanted to impress his teachers by doing something he hadn't done before.

Who ISN'T aware of their stereotypes?
If you want to theorize that dad basically pulled the same thing as these guys...
(i.e. fished for a reaction from authorities), fine. But it's just that...a theory without a single shred of evidence. And said theory is deducted from his past as a Muslim "activist". An activist who teaches a non-violent form of Islam, which seems counter productive to creating a "hoax"
I'm not dismissing it, but the means by which some people are arriving at that conclusion does nothing but further the white, southern stereotype (which I am a part of).
