In a video posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Crowell said that "by posting that picture, I became part of the problem. I don't want to be part of the problem. I want to be part of the solution. To back that up, my first game check is going to the Dallas Fallen Officers Foundation."
One game check for Crowell is worth $35,294.
Saying he wants to work toward opening a dialogue between his community and police, Crowell also added: "I know this might not change your mind about me, and I know I can't take the post back, but I'm sorry. And moving forward, I'm committed to being part of the solution."
solid peace offering imo. its the black leaders of this country that needs to urge compliance and respect with law enforcement officers.

It's not a bad start but I would find it hard to believe it was his idea or that he did it willingly. Perhaps an "offer this up or be cut" meeting took place?

Looks like he's apologized and is offering to donate a paycheck.
You mean the Browns wrote an apolog, forced him to post it and donate a game check or be cut. Crow = TPOS
Still salty about that weapons charge that got him kicked off UGA.

I think he didn't initially grasp the severity of his actions at first. It caught up with him quickly and probably quickly understood the grave mistake he made. You frick up, fine. He's making it right, who's idea it was... who cares... he's still doing it and is publicly expressing his interest in being a solution to a problem he acknowledges he made a mistake in taking part of.

Explain. All the guns I used to have eere unregistered. Do you have to register firearms in Georgia?
Either way he is a TPOS and deserves to be released from the NFL.

Not unregistered. Altered and CC'ing w/o permit in a school zone.

Sounds like his agent wrote that apology. Sure hope a D-lineman doesn't fall on his knee this preseason

We don't even have to tell a cop we're carrying. It's the goddamn wild west in GA and I love it

He should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, but the law can't think of a worse punishment than playing for the Cleveland Browns.

bullshite. Crow is just trash. His initial "apology" was canned garbage from his agent that he posted. Crow didn't offer to donate a game check and have the Browns draft a more compelling apology until:
quote:
The Cleveland Police Union is threatening to boycott Browns games if Isaiah Crowell doesn't do more than apologize for his Instagram post depicting a police officer being stabbed in the neck by a hooded person.

How does a grown man and professional football player not realize how serious it would be to post a picture like that? There are a million different ways he could have appropriately expressed frustrations. "didn't grasp the severity" sounds like an excuse someone would use for a 14 year old kid.
I do think it matters whose idea it was and if he really believes what he's saying in his apology (or if it was some script he memorized from the Browns' PR department). We'll never know ( or at least for a while) what he really believes.

Stephen Loomis [president of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association] says Crowell’s post was as “offensive as putting a picture of historical African-American men being hung from a tree in the 60s.” He adds that if Crowell doesn’t go to Dallas and make a donation, “I will pull Cleveland officers, sheriffs, state troopers out of First Energy Stadium this season if he doesn’t make it right.” As for Crowell admitting he was wrong and acted out of rage — Loomis says, “You’re a grown arse man, and you claim you were too emotional to know it was wrong? Think we’ll accept your apology? Kiss my arse.”
