It's a perpetual cycle. Everyone's getting mad on Twitter, even journalists I like, and Travis will spin that to gain more followers, giving him a larger platform to say controversial things, leading to more outrage... and the cycle will continue.
And the same thing happens on the other side too for people like Jamele Hill. Skip Bayless was the pioneer before everyone got so obsessed with politics in every facet of life. It was much more pleasant when all we had to deal with was hot takes from Skip about the Cowboys, Tim Tebow, and LeBron.

But one thing different is this: Clay says that line all the time. He writes it all the time. He said it on Tucker earlier this week and he wrote it in his article about Hill (one of them). So it's not like it's something he said solely to trigger her.

This is exactly what Clay is talking about. Clay was there representing Clay. He even owns his show completely: Outkick. Fox is just one distributor of that show. Fox can't "fire" him. And fox isn't responsible for the things he says on public platforms. This is what ESPN is in trouble for in the first place.
