Whites were terrorizing blscks for longer than that. Why should I trust the KKKs numbers ?

The whole Irish slaves argument is old lazy and not applicable.

This country is getting browner anyways, so backwards, gutless, and racist views held by seemingly a majority of this constituency will eventually be drowned out within the next 30-40 years. Most of us will have daughters and sons that will be intermingling, bringing an end to these faulty, racist and divise attitudes most of you have.

And it will serve this country well.

Word man. It's no coincidence the KKK wears white cotton robes either.

In fact many of us probably have kids intermingling. The days of only interacting with minorities by watching them entertain you with their athletics prowess are dwindling, as they will be in your families soon. Marvel from afar and criticize from afar won't be applicable, so to speak

I guess sex will bring us all together

If that's what he meant he would have said that.

I don't think my dad fought in the Civil War.

I'll ask him though.

Actually, this country is becoming more racist by the minute. And trust me, it's not due to the white people...

There is still a death benefit being paid out to a daughter of a civil war veteren.

Also, my former boss' grandfather was born a slave. Was a really cool fact. The boss was mid/late 40's

Sorry, but if you're black you attached your cause to the wrong person in this case.

This incident has regressed race relations, not the opposite, and that's not the fault of white people.

There is no excuse for robbing a convenience score, assaulting its owner, then assaulting a police officer. You can not separate the killing from the circumstances which caused it. I have absolutely no sympathy for Michael Brown.

Ok...I agree that saying less than two generations is silly. Also, it has way to do with Jim Crowe than the Civil War, and there is no excuse for rioting.

That being said, I looked up an article I remembered from National Geographic. I guess, if we are going to be hyper-technical around here the last civil war veteran died in 1955 and there are still 30 or so children of civil war veterans living.

Personally, I find that fact pretty cool, but it does contrast what we consider distant past with what other countries (like the European ones) consider interesting.
