hat shite is not unique to EBR, therefore shouldn't count as a selling point as to how not shitty EBR schools are....

why don't you check with the AP school board on Monday and get back with us as to the Great Scholars program you have over there ...

ETA: at any rate .. I'm calling it a night .. time to watch another House of Cards episode .. enjoyed the debate ..

sure sounds like what you are insinuating to me ....

if you got "EBR parents don't get involved with their kid's education at all" out of the highlighted text there, then i really don't know what to tell you...

i was speaking strictly about me and my family, nothing more than that... you took that shite WAY out of context and ran with it like you stole something....

Nice. Glad they found the guy.

I had a buddy who lived there several years ago. I always thought it was a solid place.

way to go, whoever is downvoting a post that literally quotes data. you're basically saying you oppose the use of hard data in arguments.

They denied my signature the first time for no apparent reason. I had to sign again. I believe the city 'verifiers' have thier own motives.

The city of St. George petition effort failed by 71 votes, the East Baton Rouge Parish Registrar of Voters announced Saturday.

Only 71 signatures. How convenient.

Shame on Baton Rouge.

This x a gazillion. If the Registrar was this diligent in looking for inconsistencies in any other election, half of them would be voided. And I'm sure if there was any question, signatures were tossed. The politicians clearly don't want this to happen, they seem to be very happy taking our money and giving us nothing in return. If not for my elderly Dad being rooted in South Baton Rouge until he passes, I would be long gone from the shithole this city has become. And I will do everything I can to help my boys jet out of here when they graduate.

It was the awful lack of formatting that did it for me. Have another.

This. It's not over. We have the votes. Recount on the way.

Exactly .. the boundaries just kept growing and growing to the point where the whole thing just became way too ambitious ... If they would have stuck to the original foot print, it might have worked .. but you had a bunch of people raising their hands crying "what about us ???", "we want in" ... etc .. Then they added the Gardere area so as to not appear to be what a lot of the plan's critics claimed was the driving force behind the whole thing ... It just got too big, too diverse, and the unity never had a chance ... They never stopped to realize the math that the more areas you add, the bigger number 25% becomes .. Nobody was knocking on doors on Burbank .. you didn't see signature tables set up around Jefferson Terrace .. The main efforts were in the very area the whole thing started in .. George O'Neal/Jones Creek/Coursey ..

Totally agree. If this thing truly fails, the next go round needs to be a smaller footprint.

Losers lament. If it had won by a single vote you'd be touting the process.

Throw all the arguments out, throw out that St. George "leadership" was a clown show.

It all boils down to creating a new layer of government where none had existed before. No matter how small the St. George people said it would be, and they really had no clue. Who really wants another layer of government over them? A lot of the supporters label themselves conservatives and proponents of limited government. They aren't acting like it. While all politicians and people in government conveniently bend truth and facts to their liking, the St. George people where really bad at it and really obvious when they did it.

If you want a real change and real limited government you have to either blow up the City Parish model of EBR or secede from the Parish and create a new Parish. Otherwise you're still in EBR but with a Mayor, a Mayor/President, a Metrocouncil, and a kangaroo court meeting at Jones Creek Cafe that decides what happens in your area.
