I think that's great. I just never liked the idea of being that close to persuasion and influence. I saw it first hand. Picked a neighborhood kid up to go study at Jones Creek library one night and he wanted to get booze at u&p mart. On a Tuesday!
At least Catholic high kids have coke.

The regular schools in the AP are clearly better, but it all has to do with demographics. This is by far the easiest predictor of how school system will be rated and perceived by the public. I'm not sure how St. George fixes the demographics of the schools, unless more middle class whites in the area start using the public schools.

Listen to me .. one last time .. your assertion was that BR is total crap from a public school standpoint vs. AP from a public school standpoint .. I have been trying for pages to get you to understand the fact that I am merely pointing out to you that the ENTIRE EBRP public education system is not crap and that there are kids in this parish that are getting a quality public education, and are succeeding at the college and professional level as a result ... Do you understand me now ???? Because, otherwise, I don't know what else to tell you ..

i was in my school's scholars program too, way back in the day.... worked out fine for me, and i'm more than sure Dutchtown will have the same sort of set up... again, in terms of true public schools, Dutchtown is one of the best in the area, if not the state...

so now you are assuming parents in these programs aren't involved in the education process ? do parents just instantaneously change when they cross the parish line ? No .... these parents are every bit as involved in their kids educations as the Dutchtown parents .. kind of silly to make that assertion, don't you think ?

Nothing like a good ole fashioned Rag argument to the death. But this time I agree with you. AP is better but ebr has programs to cater to the smart outliers.

jesus tapdancing christ.... no, that's NOT what i was insinuating at all, in the least...
i'm just saying FOR ME and MY CHILD (i have a castle full of fricks that i don't give about anyone else's choices of how to educate your kid), i will not leave it all on the teachers at their school... there will be parental responsibility in MY household... again, don't care what EBR parents do or don't do, nor do i know what they do....

hell, we had scholars programs 15 years ago in Lafourche parish.... and i got a GREAT public school education because of our program....
that shite is not unique to EBR, therefore shouldn't count as a selling point as to how not shitty EBR schools are....

Haha it was kind of a last straw 5th of July 2013. Maintenance was nonexistent. We had income based neighbors. Etc.
