Pffft .. you don't think Ascension parish feels like BR ?? Traffic is fricking horrible in AP .. AP's schools are getting overcrowded far faster than they can build them .. the entire parish's sewer system is incredibly antiquated and is getting over tapped with all of the development going on down there without regard to organized growth .. Between the schools and the sewer system, along with other assorted infrastructure, AP probably needs $2 Billion just to solve these issues .. There ain't enough sales tax revenue down there to cover that .. so .. hello $12K property taxes in the next 10 years ..

Most St. George signers dont even know that exists. And those are great programs, as good as Catholic and Episcopal. Much better than other private schools(and Ascension and Livingston) for sure.

Great Scholars is basically the BRHS program in a nutshell, minus the getting on the bus at 5AM to trudge all the way across town ... I know a lot of kids that have come out of these programs that got out of state scholarships and full blown TOPs along with extra money from LSU ... most of them are on the Dean's list at LSU .. Go to a Live Oak HS graduation in wonderful old LP, and the valedictorian is going to SLU ..

I have very close connections with the AP and you are spot on. AP is making the same mistake BR did in its own development letting small town guys still run shite there. Their biggest problem is that they're just letting commercial and real estate developers run buck wild with free reign and they're just throwing shite on the wall in developing their own traffic infrastructure. They are on a very dangerous course right now....

Not true. AP is still top 5 growing parish in LA. As long as EBR continues to deteriorate AP will be in good shape.

Just because they are growing doesn't mean they are growing well. There is no master plan in the AP at all. They need to get their shite together quick.

and Rag, there's a reason is growing so rapidly... EBR sucks dick... there's a few spots that you mentioned that are worth while, but on the whole, yeah.... no thanks... i'll take my antiquated sewer system, along with our great school system, all day every day...

Not sure if it went to voters, but the council certainly did if it wasn't voted on.
You BR people better get you own people in the council there and not let the natives run the parish.

I wouldn't exactly go overboard with your school system unless you're not considering the parish as a whole -- i.e. south of Dutchtown HS .. If you think EAHS and St. Amant are world beating schools, you might want to check that .. The money all comes out of the same kitty, whether it is the northern or southern part of the parish .. there's more to the AP than just Prairieville, Galvez, and Dutchtown ..
And come on with the sewer system .. you're sticking your head in the sand on that one if you think that is not a MAJOR MAJOR issue that will blow up sooner than later ..
