Depends where we will be by then (all depends on both sets of our parents) .. If we are in BR .. in this part of town, Shenandoah for sure ..

How are the AP public schools doing?
good.... even the "bad" AP public schools are good, compared to BR...

I just feel bad for the good people who can't afford private.
we would be able to afford it, but if i don't HAVE to shell out thousands of dollars for something of quality that i can get for free, then i don't want to....

that's like the only good one in BR....

I'll put Shenandoah Elementary, Woodlawn Elementary, Woodlawn Middle, and Woodlawn High's Great Scholars program up against any program in AP ..

Boo. Send them to the church school. I'll take good care of them.

Wasn't there a rape at woodlawn high a year or two back?
Yeah. No.
Yeah. No.

Lifelong BR resident here. I have lived all over BR. It's not as quaint as it once was. If you're over 35 and truly feel EBR is better than lets say mid to late 90's, you're unequivocally wrong. The anemic school system and increasing crime is disconcerting to say the least.

Laugh all you want .. because you would be clueless .. do you think Dutchtown High is better than Baton Rouge High ??

i don't know... i'm sure you have a ranking or graphic to tell me how great BR High is though... right?

I think BR is better in some areas and worse in others .. BR has the same problems that a lot of cities our size has .. You can't honestly say BR has gotten worse in the last 20 years .. In 1995 the ENTIRE school system was still strangled by the Deseg order .. After it was over, you had some of the peripheral, suburban schools get programs that they couldn't have gotten under the old order ... There have been a lot of improvements to BR in the last 20 years .. Look at the crime stats from 1995 .. it is the same fricking stuff .. mainly NBR on NBR ..

Are you really serious ?
Because the reason I say this is that the GS program is the BRHS program at the high school level .. so, in some parts of BR, you can get a good quality public education ..

Is there a realistic expectations local kids can go to Dutchtown or is it a lottery? Yeah, then Dutchtown is better.

Yeah. No.
There are private school teachers fricking minor students all over the place too .. so what's your point ? And .. in all actually, that wound up not being an actual rape ..

It's not a lottery .. If your kid academically qualifies for the program, then they are admitted into it ...
