Years ago, after several hours of post-game drinking, I had a friend climb a tree in that area. We were trying to get him to come down, but we might as well have been dealing with a cat up a tree. A cop rolled by whilst he was up the tree and spooked him. He climbed down after that and very proudly said, as if it worked, "All I could think was, 'Act like a squirrel!". We still laugh about that.

Does Tenner not allow drinking at tailgating?

You can definitely drink at tailgates here. I have walked all over campus with a beer on game days.

This is more relevant the night before the game.

Or you're so addicted to alcohol you cannot be without a drink 24/7?

You made his case. Why does have to be behind a door otherwise you have to have a drink at all times? Silly

Because no normal person wants a bunch of drunks wandering around in public.

You can have La laws, I'll take UT laws....

Having lived in Louisiana my entire life, it blows my mind that most places outside of LA don't allow you to walk around outside with a drink in your hand.

This.
I remember working around the area of Tyler, TX 20+ years ago and in order to order a beer at a restaurant it required some type of registration and I think alcohol could only be bought at a stand alone liquor store.

It's been called Market Square for over a century. Think about it. Where country folks brought their produce to sell to city folks.
Most cities had one or more similar places. Knoxville just never let theirs become a dump (having TVA there helped).
