It’s interesting that many assume that because they are so highly advanced as to be able to come here, that they wouldn’t be prone to frickups

I love that people assume they’ll look vastly different like green men with big heads.

It’s highly possible they’d look similar to us where you couldn’t tell a difference

One species looks very human like. Others, not so much.

I guess if they were time travelers that would be possible but aliens from another planet...I mean humanoid looking maybe but exactly like us? I'm having a hard to time with the highly possible part.

Friend of mine who is a mechanical engineer saw a giant triangular shaped craft with a light on each corner hover silently over his house. He said it was low enough he could throw a rock at it and hit it. He doesn’t believe it was ours. Take it for what it is.

So i am to believe these non human crafts have figured out interstellar travel, and how to fly undetected in our atmosphere, but can't fly in our atmosphere without crashing, and when they crash only the gov't knows about it?

My guess is the crashed ones are mostly ours that we have created via reverse engineering.

I know someone in the military with top secret clearance, and for some things, ultra clearance. He has worked at area 51 and says there are some amazing things there. He said he can't say what is there, but he can say what is not there, and there are no alien spacecraft there.

You mean a drone with 4 lights and one of them is out?
Or maybe this:

TBH I find these little stories of everyday folks that have normal lives that witness truly bizarre shite and then just go about their normal lives again far more interesting than the claims of grand conspiracies.

Cousin of mine had a lost time event years ago. Saw a light in a field on a short drive from a friend's house and the next memory was arriving back home several hours later.

Due to karmic laws, outsiders can't just jump onto Earth and get involved without serious repercussions should they do harm. Some races have helped advance humans on earth by "crashing" craft to provide technology that we could reverse engineer and learn from. Vary rarely is it actually a crash.
Not sure if serious.

Technically any drone is a non-human craft, right?

I can imagine part of the problem with clarity on these things is that its an evolving process alongside our own technology evolving.

Here's an example-- say in 1945, they shoot down/recover a thing at Roswell, that's robotically or mechanically what we'd call a modern drone.

What would they call it at the time? An unmanned non-human craft probably wouldn't be a stretch, because they weren't exactly embracing drones as we understand them as a widely accepted concept.

Skip forward 60 years-- similar situation, they could call it a recovered drone pretty easily, because it saves time and helps the reader of any limited reporting on it have a shorthand for what they are dealing with--- but the overall terminology may remain the same, as a catch all that was either too broadly or too narrowly applied at the start, but that became a catch-all over decades and multiple encounters/recoveries.

Let me guess... they need more money in their budget.

agree. Maybe something with our atmosphere or temperature causes problems. There's a host of reasons why there could be crashes here after distant travel.

Yes. You have to assume they sent probes or scouts first, but then again how can you scan or detect something you don’t know about? So many potential grams, rays, elements, whatever, around and everywhere.

mean what else is the govt. going to say but "crash"? It was intercepted, shot down, etc. opens up a whole other can of worms of express knowledge and failure to disclose truly known threats. If it "crashed" they don't have to answer those questions - we found it and were just studying it so we could understand any threat and properly inform the public.

So, you point out yet another assumption (May be true or not):
We assume that the technological advancement to travel this far would also include ridiculous warfare abilities and effectiveness.
That one is hard to disagree with; however, again we’re talking about a… universe of variables.
Perhaps their minds developed more geared toward peaceful developments, and they never needed war capabilities?

Nah that sounds kinda dumb but I posted anyway for feedback.

I don't think its a dumb thought but even if they had warfare in thier past, the hope would be they got that out of their system by the time they became advanced enough to reach us.

It's impossible to know how they would perceive us though. Do they recognize us as an intelligent species with lots of potential and respect us? See us as a future risk? A pest that needs to eliminated from this resource rich planet?
You probably consider yourself a peaceful person. Do you think twice about eating livestock or killing ants?
