You have to remember that there are people still alive who lived through a lot of ugly shite on both sides of the fence. My mom would be an example of this, and so would my wife's grandmother.
So it is only natural that they instilled this into the children and grandchildren. Now, the grand children and children do not see the world as they did, but a lot of their hate rung in our ears. I remember being furious with my mom because she wouldn't let me go to Woodlawn because her friends told her it was a racist school and they hated black people. I of course didn't believe that to be true, but what could I do.
Even though I did not buy into her ignorance, I still had a small distrust of white people until I started college.
I'd imagine there are whites out there with similar stories and backgrounds.
Check out the documentary "Southern Rites" if you are ever bored.
I agree with you.
My mom is a leftist liberal who claims to not possess an ounce of racism, yet if she sees a black guy walking by her car in traffic she locks the doors.
It is just cemented in their minds, even if they want to deny it.

and that will never change...people need to accept that and quit making issues for what a minority percentage of a group may think and quit applying it to the entire group.

Are you saying get rid of all state flags or just remove the confederate design from them? I love state flags. States still have governments that make their own laws. I wouldn’t mind if they removed the confederate references from them just because it pisses people off. Whats the point? Your flag can’t have tradition without that specific reference?
